Totally nails the balance between SNES Zelda and a twin stick bullet-hell style shooter. My only complaint is that the puzzles aren't overly complex. There's a lot to do besides just the main dungeons and there's variety there as well. Can't wait to play through it again on the harder difficulty for the last achievement.

It's a metroidvania-lite. Lots of backtracking, but not necessarily because you can get to previously inaccessible areas. It's just long enough that it doesn't overstay its welcome and the sense of humor (for me at least) is spot on. The combat remained fun throughout (and there's a lot of it, I also needed to grind for a couple of things I was missing towards the endgame and it didn't feel tedious). Well made throughout and it makes me sad that this didn't get more publicity when it came out. Really is a hidden gem.

Solidly made little bullet hell shooter. The difficulty is a little weird in that the levels are mostly just destruction fests on the players side and then the bosses unleash hell. Has a boss rush and a never ending mode as well. Just good simple shmup fun.

What starts out as a pretty run of the mill twin-stick shooter slowly evolves to feel more like Smash TV with the power ups and different weapons you get. The fact that you have to play through the entire game once to unlock the metagame is my only criticism. That and maybe the amount of grinding required to unlock everything. That being said, the gameplay is fun enough that I will continue to play and try to earn all the achievements (including completing it on the hardest difficulty).

While I was gifted the copy of the game, I have gone back and purchased the DLC.

It's a decent little puzzle game that gets maddening in the later levels as the solutions to the puzzle depend on random movement and behavior of the AI to solve. There's also a couple of later puzzles that are CRAZY difficult when playing solo, but I imagine would be a breeze if you had co op (more targets for the MANY cannons to fire at with two people moving around instead of one). Still it's a cute story and was a fun experience. There's also a single achievement that's not working, but a guide that links to a fan-made patch that fixes it.

Tough as nails platforming and an endearing story that's well thought out and voice acted. Unlike anything else I've personally ever played.
