I only play this PvE. That being said, it is utterly fantastic. The base-building is amazing. The combat is insanely finely-tuned. The progression systems and QoL are fairly well paced, although some of the later things and certain weapons could come earlier.

Overall, this is one of my favorite survival games.

It's basically a Robo-Bioshock set in an alternate past with the Soviet Union becoming wildly technologically advanced. The story is interesting, although nothing is going to leap out as super original. The voice acting is well done, although the writing can feel a little dated, or unconvincingly delivered I suppose; you'll probably understand if you play it. It sometimes feels a little cringe, but maybe that's just me.

The gun play is pretty fun, the upgrades are actually interesting, and the upgrade/inventory system has a ton of super good quality of life aspects. Want to play a different build? Cool, you can refund literally everything for free at any equipment station. Same goes for inventory management, with only 2-3 exceptions (condensed milk, vodka, and maybe one other item; basically consumable buff items) everything else can be disassembled for its construction cost. The enemy respawning system is actually really interesting, and if it bothers you it's easy enough to be counter-acted. Accessibility options in the game are phenomenal and allow a lot of customization for your play through (such as disabling the lock picking mini-games, or auto-completion of quick time events, etc.

It's a fun shooter, especially if you grab it at a discount. It won't change your life, but it's a fun play-through, specially if you do all the training grounds and wander and explore. I will say, some of the weapons feel *way* more powerful than others, but it's a single player game, who cares about weapon balance?

Vermintide 2 has some of the most satisfying melee combat you'll ever find, especially in this style of coop game.

The game isn't perfect, but Fatshark has massively improved from their previous title and at the end of the day, the game is just so satisfying I can look past the vast majority of the negatives and just accept it for what it is. The game is gorgeous, the combat is amazing, the characters are awesome, the banter is memorable and exemplifies the bond the heroes have together, and the atmosphere is spot on.
