First: the game itself. I've played a lot of trackmania and have really liked the way the cars handle. Art of Rally does not have extremely tight controls like trackmania, but they have a lot of options for how your car should handle. After about an hours worth of finagling, I was able to get a relatively simple control on the car.

Honestly, the settings are only 1/4th of the equation. The meat is simply mastering the unique physics of the game, then you should be able to maneuver sufficiently with any car. The trick that I found is that slight turns are very responsive, but the 90 or 180s should have a good brake or lead up angle to make it without issues. It takes a ton of practice, but in doing so, I quickly entered the top 1% of a lot of the time attacks.

The terrain is pretty cool. There isn't a large amount of variety in the design around the roads, but its on theme so it works. I don't get tired of playing the maps, however, it does make it harder to distinguish which map you're playing and, following that, any checkpoints to distinguish turns.

Overall, the game is exactly what I expected. But the best part of this game is its support.

I've been playing this game on an M1 mac. It runs great. I did notice early on though that my steam save was overwritten and wiped out half an hours worth of playtime. I thought it was a fluke so I kept playing. On my 24th hour of playtime, the error appeared again where my save was wiped and stored to the cloud. I sent a message to support and they worked extremely quickly to recover my save files. They weren't able to replicate my issue, but I think running games through the pinned app on the dock may be running a fresh save instead of running it directly through steam's library.

For how quickly their team cares enough to have quality support, and for the great quality of gameplay, I would recommend buying this game and supporting this developer studio.

I played during the free weekend.

I think it crashed once in however long I played it, but it booted back up pretty quickly.

Menus really do suck a horse's bottom. I would rather a tutorial on their menus and what things do or mean since things have changed since i played the original mw2.

Honestly, once you're in multiplayer, killin people left and right, it's very fun. The small map is genuine chaos, where I thrive. The bigger maps require better aim, and I'm not that good. But even dying doesn't feel bad because you just respawn in like 2 seconds. Classic cod.

Anyway, sure I'd recommend, as the actual gameplay is fun.

Much better than the one stick death punch or whatever is out. Hordes of enemies, and responsive controls. If you're looking at this comment, just try it out and you'll see too
