Used to be fun, but turned into an unbalanced ♥♥♥♥ game. Not worth wasting your time.

I have played over 300 hours of this game and I always loved it, even the games I didn't win. But as I'm passing those 300 hours, I'm starting to realise there's been a few major changes.

Let's start with lobby-dodgers. It may take up to 20 minutes to find a lobby where the killer doesn't dodge. It's extremely frustrating to find a good lobby that also has a stable ping, especially when you're playing with a friend and you have to invite them over and over again. And then there's the Anti-Cheat error that makes you leave the lobby way too often. This seems to have gotten worse after the new ranking system.

That brings me to the next subject. Before the new ranking system arrived, I was really hyped about it. I thought it would lessen the amount of campers, but that certainly didn't. I feel like there are 2 times as many campers now.
I also think it is way too difficult, for survivors at least, to get a +1. You need to have a decent amount of points in each category, but I think the devs forgot about gen-rushers and hook farmers.
Leavers and ragequitters are also a common thing, they pretty much raise the chance of losing the game to 90%. You'd have to be really lucky to win a game with 3 people and 5 generators that need to be repaired. And when you lose, you still get -1, even though you're missing part of your team.

And does reporting players even do anything? I've reported so many people for leaving the game, speedhacking and even recorded someone who was lagswitching and sent it to the devs. Did I get a response back? Of course not, but I still needed to leave my contact info for some reason. I feel like neither the in-game report system nor the player report forum on Steam and their Google form does anything at all. Maybe when someone has over 100 reports they'll do something, but for what I have seen, they haven't done anything with my reports whatsoever.

Ah, how could I forget... the post-game chat. 9 out of 10 times there are people arguing or just plain insulting each other for no reason. This community's toxicity is so bad that when they've had a bad game with you, the next game they meet you they'll leave you die on the hook or instantly unhook you so the killer can down you again, getting you killed on purpose.

Also, I think it's ridiculous that almost every game I play as survivor, there's a laggy killer. And it's even more ridiculous that it's always to the killer's advantage, they won't notice a thing. I've learnt that checking the lobby's ping doesn't matter that much as you may think. Even when the bar is green, all the killer has to do is to play a video on YouTube and the match will be unbelievably laggy.

This game is broken to the max and I don't think I'll be playing again until they fix what they have destroyed.

Before you decide to buy this game, let me tell you a few reasons why you might want to stick those wonderful dollars back in your piggybank.

1. The game is dead
Ace of Spades used to be a very fun game when it was still crowded with people. When I started the game today after a few years of not playing at all, there were a total of 37 people playing in 4 servers. And as most of the time, Team Deathmatch had a full lobby with 24 people. So either you have to wait an eternity for someone to leave or get kicked, or play in a server with too little players.

2. VOTE TO KICK ‘INNOCENT_PLAYER’ FOR GRIEFING?
I played a full match of Team Deathmatch which takes about 10 minutes, and in those 10 minutes I kept getting these annoying kick polls over and over again. Really, I got like 6 in one match. When I asked the person why they want to kick people so bad, I got a response saying something like “He keeps destroying my house.”
By the way, most of the time these players don’t actually get kicked, that’s why they kept suggesting it again and again.

3. Alternative for Minecraft
As I mentioned before, a lot of kids are just playing this game so they can build a little home, then wanting to kick the people who destroy it. Basically just not playing the game how it’s meant to be played and this really annoys me.

4. The graphics
In my opinion, for a game of 12 dollars, it doesn’t looks so good. Sure, it’s meant to be blocky and all, but it makes me feel like there’s not much work put into it. I’m pretty sure they did, but they could at least make it look a little bit better by maybe using some more and different colors, because right now it’s hard to tell if that guy in the distance is my teammate or not.

So based on my experience and the things I just mentioned, I don’t think this game is actually worth 12 dollars. Though, if you’re hesitating on whether or not you should buy the game, I suggest you wait until it’s on sale.
