The political system is great and pretty in depth, a great step up from the first game. The districts are great to play around with until you get all your bonuses just right and the nonstandard grid prevents absolute perfection which I both love and hate. Altogether a really solid play that I'm sure to come back to when I want to play the story a different way or try out some new mods in the utopia builder.

Normally I wait until I get around a hundred hours or so into a game before thinking about reviewing but this game deserves one now I feel like.

Post-launch week, this game is already incredible. I adore the design of being a lonely librarian that spends all their days with the same friend group of about five books, two jars of honey, and three busts. The pull of being able to restore this old library/monastery/castle/prisony place keeps me coming back every morning before work to finish a few things in the game that I wanted to complete the night prior. The expansion of the Secret Histories lore feels so deep that I worry I might need to become a Long just to sate all the curiosity I harbor for it. The community is also so helpful in the Discord server and Steam discussions page alike for whenever you get stuck or lost.

Now, with all that praise being said, this is still a really new game and it does come with a few bugs. Weather Factory is hard at work polishing up the game though and they give regular updates. QoL changes are in the works for all the little minor gripes I might have and I eagerly await what comes next for the game!

For what this game is and how it launched, this is an easy 9/10 for me. It's not a game for everyone but I know it's for me.

It's pretty good so far. An excellent example of a 4X game done well. Lots of innovative and unique ways to build an empire. The roleplay opportunities are immense, from creating the Skaven from warhammer, to making the Dark Lord Sauron himself. Lot's of ways to have fun and explore the possibilities.

I love coming home from a long shift at work, sitting down, relaxing, and working another long shift in space... 10/10 Quite pog

This game has beaten me. I love the souls series and I hoped to play through them all before Elden Ring came out but I just can't. Without some sort of guide, navigating each level is like pulling teeth. That, paired with a really rigid and fickle combat system make problem solving difficult... Beyond what a souls game should be. I understand the need to have difficulty in a game but this takes the CBT to a whole new level. I've played through Darksouls 3 multiple times and never quite understood why I enjoyed the game despite its difficulty. Now I know, after playing Remastered and Scholar, that it was the fluid combat that allowed me to stay hopeful I'd get another shot after dying. All that, and farming takes ages to do. Soo... git gud game :p

Played all 40 hours of this game in the first two weeks it came out, had a small clan of about ten people, realized I needed more members to compete with rivaling clans, people started showing less and less until it was just me and the two other original clan founders, we all decided it was time to put the clan to rest... And that was the end of the Amethyst Sun...

This game may only appeal to a niche crowd but that crowd is loyal to games like this. With help from the extensive mod community, this game has captivated so hours of my time. 10/10 would buy again

This game, once you understand the basics, is lots of fun and you'll find it even better if you play with friends.
