After having an incredible time playing this game with friends and pubs for hundreds of hours and buying most of the DLC, despite reservations, OVERKILL has entirely let me down with their newest "free" crimefest content. There's nothing free about MICROTRANSACTION crates! This game was super fun but it looks like its gone downhill thanks to ♥♥♥♥♥♥ DLC policy.

Hands down one of the most innovative and unique WW2 FPS (or FPS period) I've ever played, Red Orchestra and Rising Storm are an extremely enjoyable and unique experience. The game has provided me with hours of entertainment, has very unique gameplay, and has a ver yfriendly and ejoyable playerbase.

First of all, you should note that the only worthwhile poriton of the game is the MULTIPLAYER portion. There is only single player for Red Orchestra (abbreviated RO2 from now on) and it is definitely not worth even downloading. The primary appeal in this game is a massive multiplayer matches.

These multiplayer matches are also fairly diverse too. Though I prefer playing online campaigns on "realism" (essentially hardcore mode in other games) mode, the game provides a variety of other types of gameplay such as "casual" mode where damage threshholds are greatly increased, as well as gametypes such as demolition or team death match, or even standalone matches of Territory (of which the campaign consists of). Note however, I believe the largest playerbase is focused on Realism mode in Territory and Campaign servers.

The game has a variety of unique gameplay aspects that make it fairly innovative. When playing a marksman, for instance, You can usuallyswap between scope and iron sights to adjust your aim. When playing as a machine gunner, you may have to change your barrel should it overheat. Additionally, an interesting mechanic is the shock meter, which effectively lowers as you come into unfavourable circumstancessuch as artillery or machine gun fire. As this mter decreases, your player becomes suppressed and the screen turns black and white, limiting your efficieny. Each faction also ahs a specific bonus unique to their faction. For instance, the Japanese in Rising Storm (RS) have the ability to coordinate a banzai charge that does incredible damamge to enemy moral and can be very effective if coordinated correctly. The Russians in RO2 have a similar ability with their "Urrah" charges, which affect enemy shock.

The only drawback to this game is that most of the population tends to be concentrated on a select few servers at a time due to its small size, and often times the most popular maps (Bridges, Red October Factory, Mamayev, Iwo Jima, and others) are played repeatedly, despite the massive selection of maps. This is usually no big deal however, as each match is sure to be just a little different, and is sure to keep you entertained.

Extremely solid gameplay with a lot of unique aspects that are new to the series. Attila is a great and gritty new chapter in the Total War series. Would definitely recommend over Rome 2, as this game is extremely polished for a fresh release.

I will ntoe however the game is graphically demanding so be prepared to play on lower settings. (My rig that can run Rome 2 at max settings has to play this on "quality" or high graphics)

If you don't own this game... BUY IT.
Literally one of my favorite games ever, and it's pretty simplistic.
Story and playability are through the roof and there's always a way to have a good time with friends. Infinite replay value too. The game is simpl fantastic, with a great soundtrack, a fantastic narrative wityh few words, and of course hilarious fun. What's better than beating up a giant corn omn the cobb? Nothing. Except maybe a sock puppet dragon. Which is also in the game.
