Uhh yeah!

I used to watch my grandma absolutely demolish this game, so happy I found it on Steam.

After the 8/26 update:
I was actually about to give a positive yet complainy review a few days ago about how I loved this game, BUT how I wished there was more stuff to use my spirit credits on, I'd literally bought EVERYTHING that was available already.
-Now since the update, I'm extremely pleased with the amount and variety of things! I went from 20k Credits to 70 in just a few minutes and there's still more to buy! I also love the new companions, surprised at how much I like the monkey, I normally don't like monkey-related things, but he's ACTUALLY cute and I love that he games with you. Adorable.

Onto the actual review:
As many have already stated, this isn't so much a GAME as it is more of a checklist/timer/habit tracker/lofi music/background noises app, but that said, it's the best one I've seen so far, it has gone very much above and beyond when it comes to customization of your avatar, your room, your companions. The animations are smooth and it's so much more optimized since it came out I can download and even play other games while I have this on in the background. I usually don't play the soundtracks, but when I do I find myself coming back to the track Black Coffee the most. I love that you can mix and match background noises, I often do rain, thunder and fireplace crackling all at once and I find it very calming.
When I first got the game, it was actually severely distracting due to my race to find all the critters, but that's obviously just a me problem, not the game's fault, once I got them, it properly did its job of helping me concentrate on work, writing and getting chores done.
If you or a friend needs a cute checklist app and you always wanted to BE the chilled out lo-fi anime-person you see on the youtube playlists, I highly recommend this game.

Short game, though for the price, that's... fine.
Clunky movement, lord my fingers hurt after this one. Dude refuses to speed walk slightly faster. The car is curving WHILE I'm trying to dodge trees, sending me straight into them.
Puzzles were... meh, like the squiggle bead thinggy at doctors' offices.

I am so pleasantly surprised by this game. It's simple, but still unique. I love my petgun, maybe I'm just very easily manipulated since I'm making googoo eyes at some terrifying bug monster and calling it 'puppy' every five minutes, but the lil dude really is your best friend, getting buffs for you, murdering monsters for you, being the best gun and tool in your kit. As for the gameplay it's a fun looter-shooter best enjoyed with friends for sick combos and more wiggle room with your character/gun build. There's some story and the art is pretty, but they coulda just shoved the puppy-gun in my arms and told me to 'take care of him' and I'd be off getting him the best mods and gun builds, story or no story.

If the game isn't crashing there's nothing to do but join a gang and kill other people wearing dinosaur avatars. Some people are into that, but personally I wish there was more. I do like just surviving and getting into the mindset of a critter, but then once it's an adult, the 'gameplay' is boring, toxic as hell pvp, or glitchy as hell pvp.

If Guns of Icarus didn't give up on itself, this would be it.

New players should not buy this game since the official servers will be shut down coming August, you are being SCAMMED.
As much fun as I've had playing with my family on this game I cannot support the devs or publishers decision to screw over their customer base like this. It's pure evil.

Yeah it's pretty neat.

Everyone else has already addressed the online only issue and lack of private lobbies, but I'm a woman and I'm going to point out something that's annoying me specifically. Can I have one female face option that isn't overly hideous please? I'm not asking for a pretty face, just a NORMAL one. I know this is a new trend in the gaming industry, but honestly, it's just kind of insulting and annoying that they're pushing the whole ugly woman=good because making a woman remotely attractive or someone that doesn't need a bag over their head means you're sexualizing her.... somehow. :/ Oh also, sorry, not "woman" Body Type 2? is what we're calling women now, to the point where you ridiculously put tattoos on BODY TYPE 2's body that are covered by BODY TYPE 2's sports bra which seems rather unnecessary if the body types are just soooooooo interchangeable, right?
