Co-op was not desirable. We tried co-op both online and couch, couch fails hard. A lot of gear and weapons felt useless. Quest tracking needs work, never knew when we were by a sidequest unless we specifically had that quest being tracked. Had many quests that either involved backtracking or went to areas we haven't explored yet (and didn't seem like we were supposed to yet?) The quests themselves are meh. Don't wander around too much or you can accidentally go into an area higher level than your group and die instantly. Had a few different glitches, one where mainline quest objects just didn't spawn at all. Had to reboot to progress. Mainline exposition dump goes as follows: Listen to a character say a bunch of terms you never heard before. Do a dialogue tree asking what each of those terms are. Realize this is very tedious: ignore dialogue and just shoot the guy they want. This game might be better solo, but that's not why we bought it.

Found this game thanks to Sseth. It was worth every penny. Very addictive. Definitely has that 'just one more run' feel. Still trying to get all class' passives and challenges done. Can feel like a God with the right items, only to get crushed in a high loop and try again.

Oh my I should've bought this sooner. The content, the snark, the humor. I love it. Higher graphic Elona (well, not as expansive as Elona, but you get the idea) I appreciate how different specialties have different resources so I can mix and match all this craziness. I regret delaying a purchase, and came back to buy the DLC. The only reason I'm writing this review now is because I went to the page for the DLC! Take my money!

I'm honestly surprised to see so many negatives for this. At this price point, there are a ton of rogue-lites (as much as I hate that word) with half the effort that was put into this game. I'll take this over Rogue Legacy any day.

The art style and music alone are worth the price of admission. A few times we purposefully lost just to see the cityscape degrade further. Couch co-op with a friend is the big seller. Yes you basically restart from near scratch each time, but that's kinda expected from a game of this style. Your special items have some uniqueness to them: sure you got your bow and bombs and the like, but yoyos, vinyl records, golf clubs... some even with puzzle elements to them is much more thought than I see from other "rogue-lites." for all the Zelda-themed elements in play there's enough of their own thought and direction to not make this game seem like a rip-off or clone.

If you're expecting some deep, epic story or to be able to simply grind a lot to win every time afterwards, pick a different game. Instead grab a friend and slash at some stuff, praying you find enough sushi in the grass to survive.

Great game. Simple controls and good character customization. This was a much bigger world than I was expecting for the price point. Well worth the time.
