I played the first, and honestly, could never finish it because it just felt clunky... The first was SO difficult to get attached to, yet, I would still totally recommend it because ultimately it was a great game. But this, this right here... This is it. This is everything the first wanted to be and more!

I was about to move on to a more mature appetite. A life that is without question; the antithesis of regression. I thought I'd roll the dice against my childhood when this game came out, having been slowly losing my passion for gaming. It was a natural 1. The skin of progression that wrapped around me was shed into the boy whose eyes used to water from playing 12 hours of Runescape and FFXII every day on spring break. My love for this game has taught me to love the child I was. Because if it weren't for those spring breaks, battles with my brother over turns for the Windows 95, and long Gameboy advanced drives to see my now-deceased grandparents, then I'd be missing the appreciation I have for great design, great writing, and a communal strive to bring a world beyond our own to those who need it the most. I needed it, and Baldur's Gate 3 went above and beyond anything in the past 8 years.

Incredible game.

This game, and it's developers, have risen from the ashes of one the most underwhelming releases of a highly anticipated game ever. They've soared out of that mess like an S class ship kitted with newly implemented features.

My immediate thoughts on this game are how incredible far we've come graphically. I felt like this game hadn't been out for 8 years, but the models/textures really reminded me that I was in a 2010 game. Anyways, kind of a silly comment. I recommend this game for it's well spun story and immersive gameplay. At some points I did feel like I was playing a stretched out action flick, but it ended just at the point where I'd rather be playing another game. And by another game, I mean the next in the series because I was greatly impressed by this entry to the series.
