I've had to start over 3 times from fresh, and I don't even know why. Every time I've started the game there's no save data. I can't recommend a game that won't even successfully save my data.

Kinda neat to beat it on the night it wins GOTY. It is deserved. While a little janky, don't get me wrong, this game is still historic. I cried, I laughed, I triumphed, I got decked. I spent about 130 hours on my nearly 100% completion good guy playthrough. Get ready to save scum a fair bit.

I can't recommend this game to other people in it's current state of utter jankiness. It's fun, it's immersive, but I can't in good conscious recommend a game that requires so much googling, youtube tutorials, reddit support, modding, and extensive save scumming to endure. The game trys to combat the save scumming as well. I just can't recommend other people buy this game as it is anymore. Every criticism of this game you have seen so far is justified. Don't buy it yet.
For example, I'm doing some shopping in a major city, Akila. A high level monster literally pops out of the ground and starts attacking me. I shoot it, a civilian runs into my line of fire, and it immediately autosaves. If this game had even a mediocre autosave system like it's predecessor Fallout 4, all would be well. It was not, the autosave in this game is designed to punish save scumming regardless of if the game is screwing you over. This is just one of many examples. I and many others have spent very countable hours (I have spent a little over 4) trying to rebuild playthroughs from far too distant saves due to various bugs and bullcrap. That's 4 hours of my playtime spent on recovery.
"Oh, but what about quicksaves?" You would reasonably inquire. The game will just remove them out of spite. You need a mod to fix it.
This game is a very bipolar 7/10. It could have been so much better. Buy it in a year or two.

The only reason this game has such high ratings is because a bunch of grossly hive-minded weebs and semi-weebs get a kick out of such an intentionally bad game in the name of irony.
Three hours in this is such a awfully flat, uninteresting game with no apparent appeal. I can't fathom why people think this is fun. I wish I had refunded this when I had the chance but I kept trying to give it a shot because it's so well received.
Someone has to call this utter garbage out for being garbage.

One of the best video games I have ever played. The best voice acting I've ever heard in a game, period. Top tier story, top tier combat, puzzles, exploration, progression. This game is crafted with perfection in mind in every aspect. This game is superior. Buy it immediately.

I am at a total loss for why this game is well received. It's just full of mediocrity and tedium. Mediocre story, mediocre combat, mediocre (at best) voice acting. Barely enjoyable at best. Enemies are absurdly bullet-spongey even when hitting "weak points" Even with the high-powered bow with damage mods on easy it takes way too many weak point hits to take something down entirely invalidating stealth approaches. The only enjoyable combat is against humans because headshots at least work. Massively overhyped.

Top tier all time game.

This game suffers from the most disgusting affliction of microtransactions. It's $10 USD to buy ONE gun. Absolutely disgusting price gouging for additional content. I'm ashamed to own this game.

It's been almost 9 years and it's still in alpha. There will be children who born and will finish elementary school before this game is even into beta. The gameplay of this game is as slow and painful as the development process has been. I don't remember how I got this game years ago but I do know I regret it.
