This game is without a doubt one of the greatest games created for PC. It gives the player complete control of his destiny, there is no main quest, you do not start as some great hero that must save the world. You create a backstory for you character that ranges from a simple peasant to the son of a powerless noble. You have a small introduction quest that will show you the basics of how to move about the world and recruit men to your cause, then it leaves you alone. There is no giant marker on the map that tells you what to do, it simply leaves you to do as you wish.


Now once you finish your little intro quest (which technically you dont have to finish but i recommend you do as it gives you some money to start off with) You then can do anything you please. Want to become a raider and destroy villages and pillage the riches? Go ahead. Want to become a rebel and help a claimant take the throne of a tyrant? Do it. Or perhaps you want to rule these lands in your own name, go right ahead.



Now on to the mods for this game, the mods are absolutely astounding. Each mod can change every single aspect of the game. Most are complete overhauls to the game which may take you anywhere from, Middle Earth to feudal Japan. Each mod is a completely new experience with brand new maps, items, people, races, one even adds in magic to the game. Not even skyrims mods can compare to the quality of these mods. Never have mods seemed so well done. Each one feels like a DLC made by the devs themselves. My personal favorites is Phantasy Calradia which adds in tons of fantasy aspects to the games such as magic, orcs dwarves elfs ect. It really completely changes the game. I would also recommend using the sub mod *Diplomacy* on your first playthrough of the game as it adds lots of new features to the vanilla game that feel like they should have been there in the first place. Its on the workshop and only take a few seconds to download.

This game is just everything you could want in an RTS, giant maps, giant armies, mechanics that just work so well and are easy to learn but difficult to master, it can appeal to the most hardcore RTS player and also to the more casual ones. The game is endless fun both online and offline in skirmish mode. This game is without a doubt one of the best RTS games on the market. and for 20 dollars you can get the game and its stand alone DLC which adds in an entire new faction, how can you go wrong buying this game? seriously one of my favorite games ever. I have recently just bought the PC version of it as i have put countless hours into the XBOX 360 version. If you are looking for a new RTS game to play, BUY THIS!!!!!
