i have ~5000 hours in this game at time of writing
i've played both casually and competitively in that time
i've achieved pretty much everything i'm interested in achieving in the game (get top tier, "get good", tournament wins, #1 squadron battles team, find community/friends)

i've determined that the only fun thing to do in the game for me at this point is to play 1v1s with friends. random battles aren't very fun tbh-- every time you feel like you finally know the matchup, some new vehicle is added that shakes up the meta. the sea vixen ruined my favorite matchmaking bracket, and top tier air is so radically different from anything below 9.0 that it's almost not even the same game.

now that the economy changes are in full swing and only getting worse, i can't even get my friends to play the game at the parts that are still kinda fun because they just run out of money. half the time i'm playing on a friend's account so i can grind money and vehicles for them, so they can actually play with me without having to deal with a full-time job grind.

there are things to like about the game, yeah. i mean, i still have my amount of hours.
unfortunately, those things are rapidly fading, and my reason to keep playing the game is nearly exclusively social. even then, my friends and i have moved on to other games that we enjoy more.

that's kinda' it, tbh. it's a sad story for a game. hope it changes, but i don't think it will.
