Team Fortress 2 is my favourite shooter game since my childhood and still is my favourite shooter 'till today. It's really a great game and I highly recommend every person who is interested in shooters which don't take it so seriously. That, the characters, weapons, cosmetics, taunts, maps, events and so on, and of course, the community is what made TF2 this awesome game that it is today.

Im givin' alot of credit, though the game has some big problems, there are currently bots which make the game alot less fun 'cause of their aimbot, spamming, lagging or kicking real people, which I really hope is goin to be better the next months.

So in 2022 the state was like this: For me it seems the work they put in fixing this problem has done somethin', there are alot less bots now then before, at least thats my experience, and im really lookin' forward to a TF2 without them, also props on how fast the source-code problem was fixed, which was really a disaster. The players accounts were at risk and you shouldn't log into TF2 at that time for your own sake which was definetely no fun for anybody.

Lastely I gotta mention the lack of updates this game has, I understand that Valves still makin' alot of money with it but they should give this masterpiece of a game more attention and care, like seriously, they would make alot more profit if they would update it only a bit more, like every second or third month would be cool tbh. I really don't care If they just keep takin' what the community offers, it would be mind blowing if they did something for an update themselves after all these years.

All in all this game needs to be updated alot, but it's still one of my fav games of all time, i love TF2. :)

As for updates, we have got a couple of update from valve which include community-created additions only, and also not more of them then we got in 2022, so no changes on that so far.

Now here comes the big thing, bot hosters and their bots have gotten way out of hand in this game. I know that there are always cheaters and bots and so on in every game, but if you join a match where EVERY PERSON IS A CHEATING BOT, and you get headshot across the map the second you walk out on the battlefield, this has nothing todo with a functioning game.
And I know those cheaters and bots are almost only in the casual game mode, but as for any game, EVERY GAME MODE SHOULD BE AT LEAST PLAYABLE, and CASUAL IS NOT.
There are lovely people in this games community who try to help in this situation and find a solution, those people are getting targeted by the bot hosters, the bot hosters name their bots after the people who try to help this game, so other people get mad at them instead of the actual threat. One of them said he even was falsely swatted in real-life, thanks to the bot hosters. Those cruel people love to ruin the fun for others and love to take advantage of valve's games. As for the bots, they haven't really changed based on what they do. Though I'm heavily convinced that their numbers have gone insanely upwards. They still have aimbot, kill any non-bot player on sight, spam either racist slurs, discord or youtube channels from people of TF2 in text chat, so they get targeted as the bad ones, and not the actual bot hosters, as I already mentioned. They spam the voice chat with loud, annyoing songs, and they try to kick innocent people so that the bots don't get kicked. Alot of them oftten join at once, so you don't get rid of them so fast, and if you kick some of them, that automatically triggers a swarm of them to flood the server your'e playing on, it's ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE.
Bot hosters actually buyed something from the in-game store to have premium-accounts for their bots, so VALVE IS PROFITING FROM CHEATERS. Valve is still bringing new in-game purchases such as cosmetic cases into TF2, LETTING IT SLOWLY DIE, while in the same moment getting a large amount of money from people supporting Valve doing a horrible job at fixing the game. This has to stop.

So what should happen now?

-We NEED A NEW ANTI-CHEAT for this game, ONE THAT ACTUALLY WORKS against this INCREDIBLY LARGE AMOUNT OF CHEATERS. Alot of the cheating bots have similar names or the exact same name, so it really shouldn't be that hard to get rid of the majority of them.

-We need ACTIVE SUPPORT for TF2. So that it can stay in a playable state and everyone can have fun, like they used to. It's been ACTUALLY OVER SIX YEARS since the bots appeared in TF2, and about four years since the game is unplayable most of the time, because of them.

And to every person reading this, playing TF2. PLEASE DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FOR THIS GAME RIGHT NOW. YOU ARE SUPPORTING VALVE LETTING CHEATERS TAKE OVER TF2 WITH EVERY PURCHASE.


I hope I got so say everything I had to say about the current situation of this beautiful game, I don't want it to die like this and I want new people enjoying those funny and random moments which still make me laugh alot after 11 years of playing.

UPDATE from October 2024:

The bots are gone!!!! Valve actually fought back and I am incredibly happy to see that! I haven't encountered any bot or cheater in months! Thank you, valve, for keeping my favourite shooter alive for longer. :)

Now, all I, and probably most of the community, want is more content for the game, new maps, cosmetics, taunts as well as bug fixes. I am happy if it stays like it is right now, with 3 actual content updates a year, but I'd love to see more of it.

So, right now I actually recommend the game again to anyone who wants to try, it's in quite a good state right now and I really hope it will stay that way.
