Short and sweet. Bland narrative that manages to stay somewhat compelling anyway. Surprisingly memorable. Mild amounts of hidden design rules that can spoil the experience if you are aware of and bothered by those things. When taken at face value, however, it remains fun for a decent while.

This is a game about community, roleplay, crust and misery.

Monster Hunter is just a great game franchise, and this is a great way to get into it. So I recommend it.

On the other hand: It has a long hand holdy tutorial you cannot easily shake, weird quirks with certain missions not allowing multiplayer for certain parts of it, and a cavalcade of Capcom's bad business practices.

Great concept. For better and for worse, it is very British.

Game used to make me jump out of my skin. I stopped playing it because I simply could not relax. It was like adrenaline being pumped straight into my veins.

But I made it. I found the Nuclear Throne. And maybe you will, too. I'll be keeping the seat warm for you.

This game feels so pointless when you're playing it, but in a way that is enthralling. It's a fascinating one time experience if nothing else. Give it a try during a sale, or a free weekend when a lot of other new players are playing.

Extremely janky game that was a good bit of fun with friends.
