Any maps with timing-based obstacles is just a crapshoot. With every heist being hosted on their servers rather than one of you in the lobby, the latency is incredibly bad. I have great internet here, I can play League, Overwatch 2, no problems whatsoever. Payday 3's servers on the other hand are so bad that you can be seen by a camera, back around a corner and still have the detection counter counting up for another second.

Then the lasers in vents, like on First World Bank for example, or the lasers to the back area in First World Bank, they will look deactivated on your screen, but because of the latency they probably aren't. Their solo beta is a start to getting back to a more stable game like Payday 2, but a locally-hosted multiplayer, like Payday 2, will be so nice to get.

It's still an alright game, but it would be so much better to have crisp responses since everything is close timings in stealth.

Has some weird stuff checking my other applications and other running processes. That's way more than a single player shovelware idler really needs. Really sketch. I'll go back to another one of the dozens of other idlers that aren't so intrusive.

It's fun, but it is damn frustrating that once we get a little ways in, it will just crash constantly. Just, cockblocking.

I like this game better than Phasmophobia but they aren't both exactly scratching the same itch.

Phasmophobia is slow and everything you do is more of soft-tells and it is wishy-washy in the responses half the time. I can spend fifteen minutes trying to figure out if one piece of evidence is there.

Ghost Hunters here is fricking fast. I have gotten into a house with my friend. I turn around to get more stuff from the car and my friend is newly-dead on the floor. Everything is "ask and you shall receive", usually immediately. You ask the ghost to come after you, and that ghost is already crawling on the ceiling above your head. It has a lot of solid controls and I have never had it crash for me. That said, probably needs a little balancing, but hey, it is early access. In higher levels, we just have learned to game the system using a specific item, flash cameras, just copious amounts of flash cameras at the ready.

Also, the tutorial has a lot of content, but I am sure the tutorial for Phasmo is probably the same and I just haven't done it in so long, so not sure I can really complain too much on that.

Anyways, start on a lower difficulty and give it a go, you'll get it. The book you use for deducing is really easy to work with.

Honestly, it's a fun game even with some of the bugs I have seen. Including the random huge drops to framerate that are then fixed upon restarting the game.

I enjoy crafting, , and Judy, and sneaking, and Judy, and murdering, and Judy. It's fun and for the most part, it seems like each bug fix is addressing one of the things I have experienced in my playthrough. Actually, on PC, they even just fixed the one bug I was loathing to run into...the 8 megabyte file size limitation which would corrupt people's saves. Hopefully that means I can do all the things now and not have to worry or make frequent manual saves.

Gotta say though, it looks like it is going to take a ton of grinding to buy all these darn cars. After all, gotta collect'em all.

Alright, going to wipe my review out from the very beginning, it has been another two years since my last revision.

I really want to like this game. I really do, but since my 2019 review, we got some visual updates and small changes to city generation and some new trash items like a pipe baton that is worse than a wooden club, but costs so many extra resources to make.

It's just not worth it to play again. Now, maybe Alpha 20 will be cool, but that is what I have been telling myself for every update since A15, and A20's only draw is a little drone. Development is slow, and focused on silly garbage rather than relevant bug fixing or stability improvements. Like, great, I like the buildings that are mini-adventures, seriously, they are neato...buuut, there are a ton of issues that need work rather than one or two new POIs that somehow takes them nine months to create. Past few updates we get updated visuals of zombies. Ok...cool, but they look still look stupid and you have changed the faces about four times in the past two years. You could tell me this is the same version from my last update two years ago and I probably would believe you. The biggest update was 2 or 3 years ago and it added these little quests and guided adventure POIs on the map. Everything since then has been updating zombie visuals which again, look stupid and in some cases worse than the original models, and not in a good way. Then adding silly filler items, like this pipe baton which costs so many resources but DPS-wise, is worse than a darn wooden club that takes practically nothing to create.

It's a stale game, but it does have some fun points. I'd only recommend it if it goes on sale. Otherwise, there are a dozen newer games that scratch this itch better.
