I was feeling exceptionally apathetic before I started this up, but then this game slapped me in the face with charm and positivity. This filled me with nostalgia from my childhood, when simply spotting a duck, a frog, or a squirrel was the most exciting thing in the world. I'm having so much fun running around taking pictures of everything, saving animals, and seeing the world feel so animated and alive. This was so delightful and therapeutic, it made me so happy I almost cried.

I didn't know this was exactly what I needed right now, but it was.

Picked this up on a whim in a bundle, and enjoyed it a lot more than I was expecting. Very relaxing and quite charming. It's like a 3D jigsaw puzzle with a bit of a hidden object element. Easy recommend to anyone who enjoys short and sweet, simple games.

monkey ball is back
tastes like my childhood

On a more serious note, this definitely isn't the perfect remake that will please everyone. There's a lot of things to nitpick about, which the other reviews have probably already done. The most important, core part of the game - the physics, are an absolute downgrade from the original. Despite this, the main game levels still feel surprisingly faithful and is still a lot of fun to play through. I found myself involuntarily smiling as I got obliterated by the same stages that kicked my ass as a kid (I think I've learned I haven't gotten much better at games). The party games unfortunately didn't fare quite as well, monkey target is just...not great. Between the two games and Deluxe there's a LOT of content here, plus some added game modes, accessibility, and customization options. Completionists will have a lot of fun completing all the stages and missions. Overall while I do feel a bit of disappointment since this was one of my favourite childhood games, and it could've been done better justice, I'm still having a LOT of fun playing through this game. I feel like a kid again, and I'm really happy it came to PC. This is by far the best that monkey ball has been in almost 20 years. Definitely recommend this to anyone who hasn't played monkey ball before, but also to people that have - as long as you're not expecting perfection, I think most people will still have a lot of fun. The 2 hour refund period is plenty of time to decide if you think the game is fun.

PS. Don't be fooled by the beginner stages. Some of the later stages are absolutely merciless.
Also if you don't buy the DLC, do yourself a favor and listen to the original soundtrack on youtube or something. This is personal taste, but I listened to the new soundtrack for awhile AND MAN IT'S ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.

This game is a lot more fun than I was expecting just from looking at it. I'm a sucker for anything that has to do with alchemy, so I was interested, but I was honestly anticipating something mediocre. But I was pleasantly surprised that I was proved wrong. The alchemy system is fun in itself, but the elements also react with the environment and create different effects and combos in combat. The puzzles, bits of lore/story, and exploration are nice too. For early access and the cheap price, this is a pretty solid game and I've been enjoying it. Definitely recommend trying it. I'll keep coming back to play the updates.

This is one of those games that I won't soon forget. Lovable characters, beautiful art style, excellent music and atmosphere. Will be adding the soundtrack to my favourite things to listen to when I want to relax.

I loved this game so much. It's adorable and heartwarming. The characters are likeable, the art style is stunning, and is some of the most beautiful pixel art I've ever seen. I loved how the characters make recurring appearances in each others stories throughout time, and there are some fun little easter eggs and references. The achievements are also fun to aim for, as there's a lot of things you can miss. The music is good, but it does get a bit repetitive. My only other "complaint" is that I wish it was longer, because I enjoyed it so much. If you want a comfy, relaxing, short, and memorable game to play, this is perfect.

Labyrinth of the Witch is a simple roguelite/dungeon explorer game originally for Android/iOS that was ported to PC. This paid version has all of the characters that you would've needed to purchase, and has no microtransactions or other mobile shenanigans.

Positives:
+ Simple and easy to learn. The "Puzzle Dungeons" are a fun and interesting way to learn all of the mechanics of the game.
+ Cute and colourful pixel art
+ Addicting gameplay

Negatives:
- Repetitive music. What little music is here is decent, but gets repetitive really fast. I ended up muting it after half an hour.
- No option to customize controls.
- Once you unlock a new character, there's no reason to ever play as the starter character (Claire) again. The other characters have better stats and a bonus trait. I assume this was to provide incentives for you to purchase the other characters in the mobile version.
- Expensive for what it is. Compared to other roguelites/roguelikes you can find here on steam, there's not much content here.
- Not a roguelike. This is more of a "roguelite." You can keep your items after a dungeon, and bring them into others. There are checkpoints. And if you die, you have a one-time revive.

Overall I'm not sure if I should recommend it or not. I personally am enjoying it enough to play it again sometime, but when it's available on mobile for free, is it worth purchasing it here? Probably not. If it ever goes on sale and you want to try out a simple roguelite with cute visuals, give it a shot. Otherwise don't bother.

This game feels shallow to me. It's just an "okay" game...maybe less than okay. The stages take too long ramp up in difficulty. The jump mechanic doesn't belong. There's only 10 minigames in this version, the Wii version had 50. Even with cutting out 40 of them, what remains has NOT been improved. They're stripped down to be extremely simple, especially Monkey Target, and it kills the replayability of them. Not sure if this is even worth $10, let alone 30. Just wait for "Rolled Out" instead, it's monkey ball, but made by people that are actually still passionate about the series. Hoping that 1&2/Deluxe will come back eventually.

I definitely feel like this game is going to be a lot of fun. It's very cute and relaxing and has a lot of charm. Rune Factory, Harvest Moon, and Fantasy Life are some of my favourite games, and the little bit I played is already scratching my itch for something similar.

However, the game is extremely buggy right now. Particularly multiplayer. If you were looking forward to playing with someone I'd recommend waiting for updates. You cannot complete quests together with another player at all, it just results in not completing or a black screen. We got around this for a bit by leaving the session and completing them in separate multiplayer games, but after awhile we couldn't do other things together either so we just gave up for now. Looking forward to playing more after some fixes.
