You may find yourself booting up the DLC content, being impressed by the 20 or so new characters, the massive new map, the fantastic remixes of dozens of Castlevania OSTs, but don't let it fool you...

...there's even more content than you could imagine. And the game initially hides it from you.

This is a biblical-scale tribute to the entire Castlevania series, many magnitudes more than Konami has done in the past decade. And it's all so gosh darn good. A spectacular DLC to a spectacular game.

As much as I would want it NOT to be this is, ultimately, a half-hearted recommendation for a DLC that builds upon and magnifies the base game's flaws. (I will not be talking about the difficulty of the content, as it's a very subjective argument which isn't worth bringing up.)

Spoilers ahead!

The pros

The world design is spectacular. it looks fantastic, it sounds fantastic, it's colorful and packed with little details. The verticality of the world lends itself so unbelievably well to ER's world exploration; this great design is tragically held back by the absurd decision to flatten the world map into a single layer, making it almost completely useless. I would've never wanted there to be direction signs, but some graces will literally appear in the middle of the ocean on your map.

Every single piece of weapon, armor, spell, talisman and summon? absolutely sublime. 8 distinct new weapon sub-types is insane and variations/upgrades of previous existing talismans breathe fresh air into build designing. This is, to me, the highlight of the DLC. Shoutout to Martial Arts.

Despite initial reactions to the Scadutree/Revered Spirit Ash Blessings, I've come around to the fact that having a separate progression system for the DLC areas is a brilliant way to equalize all characters coming from late/end base game and provide a sense of scaling. Big thumbs up!

The bosses that are good are well and truly exceptional. Bayle the Dread, Messmer the Impaler and Rellana, Twin Moon Knight are 3 of the best boss fights in... honestly the entire FromSoft lineup! They're flashy, they're intense, they challenge your grip on the basics of the combat system from jumping over AoEs to rolling discipline to avoid getting clipped from a delayed attack. It's delightful.

Unfortunately, here's where my personal gripes begin:

As a polar opposite of the last point in the list of pros, The bosses that are bad are well and truly abysmal garbage. Commander Gaius and Promised Consort Radahn are 2 of the worst boss fights in... honestly the entire FromSoft lineup. Doubly painful is the fact that the latter is the final showdown of the DLC, and he gets all of its attack patterns injected with bright flashing white projectiles that, on top of being frustrating and completely arbitrary, genuinely hurt my eyes. I owe a formal apology to Malenia, whom i may have treated too harshly in the past.

In typical FromSoft fashion, the PC port of the DLC blows. Some of the flashier attacks (Like Radahn's) will tank your framerate, and this somehow bled into the base game. For me personally, it's something i can *mostly* close an eye about, since my PC is quite decent. But this should not be the standard, and it has been for many, many years now.

They clearly wanted to "push the envelope" on what defines a boss and what is expected of the player when it comes to major battles, but this does not play nice with what they already have going on in the base game! I think what makes several of the fights unengaging and frustrating is the ever-present target lock camera being absolutely terrible in every way. Are you up against an enemy larger than a human? Great, you get to see their thigh and that's it. And unfortunately, most of the DLC's major fights involve big, hefty creatures that are swinging big weapons essentially offscreen. And they're going to be doing that very, very aggressively, so good luck.

When it comes to NPCs and their sub-stories, once again we run into the absolutely infuriating design philosophy of "tell the player nothing, and then punish them for making progress". in my first playthrough I accidentally failed several NPC quests because sitting at a specific grace in the final area will cause a bunch of characters to literally disappear from the face of the earth. Not only this is not a joke, this is a recurring thing since Dark Souls 1 and it's only gotten worse!
And adding insult to injury, the NPCs that you do manage to bring forward to the end of the game all die right before the final boss. Because the game prompts you to unceremoniously kill them one by one.

When it comes to FromSoftware NPCs, you already know it's NEVER going to be a story with a happy ending. everyone you meet will most likely die at some point or another of their journey, and to be honest it's a big part of why a lot of them are so memorable! It's a story of ultimately futile actions in a cruel world. You get to cherish the time you spend interacting with them, knowing that you inevitably won't be able to down the road. The fact that the DLC has you interact and grow attached to these characters- only for it to throw like 5 of them all against you at the very end and being forced to kill them in what is essentially a glorified gank fight- is genuinely infuriating. It should not have been this way, and emotionally i felt nothing from essentially being forced by the game to mow down several important characters right at the doorstep of the final boss. pair that with the fact that you can and most likely will miss out on other NPC interactions because of archaic game decisions and the result is that you'll end up feeling completely indifferent towards every single important character that they introduced. I guess you just loot their unique armor from their corpses and move on. yipee.

Ultimately, it's a good expansion to a fantastic game; I had fun and I absolutely do not regret buying it and playing it from day one. I just hope that these dumb silly flaws with the philosophy of Elden Ring and its expansion can get ironed out in future releases.

This is everything I could've ever asked out of an OG Risk of Rain Remake.
No compromises, no half-measures, no strings attached; you're getting the original 2013 game refined and expanded in the best way possible imaginable.

This game is absolutely gorgeous. I love the setting, I love the OST and I love the artstyle.
The sliding puzzles are fun and a very unique part of gameplay that I've never really seen before.

Unfortunately, I seriously cannot recommend this game.
The combat is tragically dull, dodging is extremely unsatisfying and seems to actively punish you for rolling into attacks to maintain momentum, and as of the time of this review it boils down to cheesing enemies one by one through either stunlocking or exploiting the moving platforms. It seems like the game is being actively updated, however, and if these issues get addressed in the future, I will gladly buy the game again and most likely enjoy it.

Do you hate your online friends and wish to crush them at the ancient form of combat that is UNO?
Would you like to play obscure tabletop games, minus the social anxiety of being in the same room?
Do you enjoy using crayons to draw phallic shapes on a fancy mahogany table?

Well then why don't you have this game yet?! Start downloading!

Tabletop simulator is a ridicolous(ly fun) game. This game's strong suit is its mod support, which allows the community to recreate all kinds of obscure tabletop games, even that one game you loved as a kid, but all your friends are probably gonna get bored of in 5 minutes.

But in all seriousness, in my opinion, absolutely worth a buy if you've got friends to play with. Not sure how much fun you can have without friends, though, keep that in mind.

Excellent game! Very short, though. Incredibly refined animations and pixel art (which i'm very much a sucker for), paired with a really satisfying combat system makes for a really fun game to eat through in 5-ish hours. The game isn't excessively hard, but it can get pretty bonkers on Insane difficulty, so it's kind of a game for a very broad range of skill levels. It reminds me a lot of Shantae in terms of character designs, where almost every character and enemy is either a waifu or a goofy-looking-monster-thing. Would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a good way to kill a weekend.

"Git Gud."
- Hornet's words of wisdom

Hollow Knight recently got its fourth and final free expansion. A reason as good as any to finally pick up a game i was eyeballing for a long time.
I've played a lot of videogames. I've seen a lot of outstanding stuff, a lot of terrible stuff and everything inbetween. Despite all this, Hollow Knight still managed to comfortably make itself room as one of my favourite games of all time. There isn't a game that's truly a 10/10, but this definitely gets damn close to it.
To put it short, it's simply outstanding no matter from which angle you look at it.

Music: 10/10. Simply spectacular, as well as perfectly tailored to the location where each track is heard in. There wasn't one track in the OST that i found to be less than great. And some bosses tracks- I really wouldn't know if it could be any better.

Visuals: Need i say anything? If you have eyeballs you'll very likely end up falling in love with the hand-drawn, unique artstyle. Every single one of the many areas in the game looks distinguished and the variety in both the environment and the fauna is eye-candy from beginning to the end. The theme of the game revolves around bugs and the like, and boy do they stick to it consistently. I liked it a lot, but i can see it being a little much for people who don't like insects.

Story: While i'm not exactly one for getting overly into convoluted and deep stories in videogames, there definitely are some exceptions. This is one of them. The rich and dark story that this game tells is both enthralling and not told in a cryptic/confusing way.

Gameplay: Hollow Knight is a difficult, Souls-Like Metroidvania (and one of the better metroidvanias out there), succeeding where a lot other games failed. There's over 50+ hours of gameplay- plenty to sink your teeth in.
The movement feels incredibly rewarding and responsive- you will never be fighting against the controls. As it's common with the genre, you will start with limited movement options (no wall jumping, no dashing, no double jumping, etc.), which makes obtaining a movement option that much more satisfying, promoting exploration and allowing you to explore areas further than you could before and find new ones.
The combat is... well, very simple. You have a nail (technically two nails, but...), you have healing, you have 3 spells that go up, down and sideways. But don't get me wrong: simple doesn't mean poor. In fact, i believe that the combat excels because of its simplicity, along with being finely intertwined with the movement. A lot of enemies are very aggressive and will move around a lot: To succeed at combat, you will need to practice both.
The difficulty is well-known to be pretty harsh on people who suck at videogames like me. But the thing is that every failure is *your fault* except if you're fighting nightmare king grimm. In short, every challenge that the game poses can be achieved through practicing and perseverance. It's definitely not everyone's cup of tea, but if you enjoyed games like Dark Souls, you'll probably enjoy this as well.

Closing in, i'd like to give a shoutout to Team Cherry- setting the price for such a masterpiece at an extremely low 15€ and releasing 4 free content updates over one year of the game's lifespan. Cheers.

This game is literally a quest to find a gun you can shoot yourself with. I mean, if that doesn't seal the deal for you, i don't know what the f*ck could ever do it.

Alright, perhaps it's about time i give this game an actual review instead of a meme.

Dark Souls. What can you say about it that's not already been said? It's a wonderful game, masterfully crafted, with great (but sadly, very few) pieces of soundtrack, Rewarding and fast gameplay, and a great difficulty mechanic (If you could call it a mechanic). The main problem of this game is that it's a game for very few people. And i'll follow that sentence with: No. This game isn't the hardest, far from it. Sure, you can say it's hard, but you can't say it's the hardest game ever created. Unlike games like Skyrim or The Witcher Series, which make you feel powerful and above others, this game treats you exactly like what you are: a normal human being. You don't have any special powers, any cool secrets and tricks, no. You're just a guy that also happens to be the Chosen Undead. That's not the only way that the game makes you feel weak: Again, unlike other RPGs, the game is never going to give you so much power that you'll feel like the game is too easy. It's always going to balance the difficulty through the toughness of enemies and areas. Going back to the problems of the game, there's an important thing that can't be overlooked. This game's pc port is... bad. Really bad. Don't get this game if you don't have an Xbox controller, because playing with a keyboard and mouse is pretty much impossible. The fps lock is quite awful, the game isn't as optimized as it could be, and the online matchmaking could definitely be better (playing co-op with a friend can take up to 20 minutes just to connect). But, if you install DSfix, and unlock the frames (Assuming you have a decent pc), and get yourself a controller, it should almost negate these problems. So my final review of this game is: A great game. Not perfect, and not the hardest. It's challenging, and that's what people seem to mistake with hard.
