An interesting take on the MOBA formula choosing to mix it with another genre namely soccer and it executes it naturally. It doesnt quite feel like a moba nor does it only feel like a sports game it instead feels like its own thing and to be able to achieve that AND be free to play is amazing. If the gameplay didn't get you then the characters definitely will. It is certainly a novelty for a slime girl to be able to hit around a disk at light speeds with assistance from a witch cursing their enemies for them to achieve victory.

TLDR; Great VN overall with fast-paced action and great atmosphere. However you may find the consistency of quality vary from heroine to heroine due to different writers in addition to the lengthy common route.

Story
The story focuses on the fictional sport brought to life through the technology previously founded in the world that allowed humans to fly. The game does a great job explaining the story through letting the reader experience the action and having the explanation come after preventing the game from being too info-dumpy. The story also takes a unique approach with the MC functioning as a "supporting" character to the main cast instead of being the trump card although i'm pretty sure he is and the vn is paced in such a way that shows he has come to accept his current position. Although the length of the chapters is somewhat long the chapters hit all the right notes at appropriate timings in order to pace the visual novel in such a way that the reader does not feel overwhelmed.

Characters
Being the main focus of the story, the characters are all distinguishable and play off of each other well in their own way. The main 4 heroines are all interesting takes on their tropes from most shounen-esque series ranging from the effortless genius and the new prodigy. The visual novel does a great job at laying the foundation for all these characters in the common route and equips the reader to be able to make their decision for which character specific route they choose to pick up. Each character route also delves into its unique points of interest further cementing how well the characters were established in the common route definitely one of the best parts of the VN.

Atmosphere
Although often an overlooked part of most visual novels the time and quality invested into the art and music of Aokana really hammers in the nails for that sweet immersion. The art is colorful and blooming with joy breathing life into each and every scene. The music tracks amplify each mood the scenes are setting and ties whatever loose ends the story and art has and wraps it tight allowing for a quality experience.

Conclusion
Overall, Aokana is a great package for both new VN readers and seasoned veterans alike, with its easy to get into and well-established atmosphere. The story of the flying circus in the sky is a solid recommendation and a 9.5/10 score from me.

Funny game

Probably going to be the next big hit but for now enjoy this gem while it's still fresh.
