Dear mum,

a herd of wild dogs attacked me while wandering through the wastelands a few days ago. I lost my legs, it still hurts a bit :c
But luckily a group of slave traders found and bandaged me. Im working for them now. Ok.. it might be not working as usually... I crawl from one stone quarry to another, hit it some times and go back to my cage.

My cage neighbor is kinda creepy. He told me, that he wants to be free. After i try my lockpick skills on his shackles and cage door and finally opend both, he just stare forward and doesn't move... After all the food is very delicious and i just get knock together twice the day.

I tried to escape one day. But without my legs it took to long and they catched me. Maybe i will be lucky and they sell me to someone who gives me two new legs...

Jesus i love this game. Every new game tells a new random story. Once played as a group of merchants who got rich through a big copper business or once as a dude without any hope of survival but luckly got into slavery (ok ok, sometimes its very hard to just sit there in a cage without any chance to escape, but in my opinion that demonstrate the rogue like character of this game).

Addendum 1 - 24.08.2020:

Dear mum,

the last time i wrote you is a long time ago.
More then a year to be honest.

I'm very sorry...

Many things changed since then.
Almost a month ago our quarry site got attacked by some strange guys.

In the middle of the night a ninja like person free everyone.
While the guards were busy to catch and punish everyone of us slaves, the ninja dude opened the main gate which lead to an ambush from two dozen of... i think it was called samurai... dudes.

They killed the guards, free everyone and plunder the dead bodies and supplies.
I thought I'm going to die because of my disability to walk and thus to work.

But I'm ALIVE!
And better then that!

They ask everyone if they want to join them. No matters which race, skills or ... restrictions.
I agreed and afterwards I'm very happy that I decided to.

We went through the deadly and very hot desert.
Sneak past herds of beak things and skin spiders.
They gave us food and protected us like we were one of them.

After some days of traveling we reached their base.
Holy moly it is big and reinforced...

At first they ask us about our name, past and skills.
And again I was worried they would refuse me because of my disabilities.
But lucky they didn't!
They even ask us what we would like to do.

I was finally able to follow my dreams and start a training to become a mechanic.
They teach me a lot of things and after some months of training i had to prove my new learned skills.
I... had... to... make... my... own... PROTHESES!

I pass that test with a very good result!
AND...
I CAN WALK AGAIN!

Mum... I'm very happy...
I asked them if I'm allowed to visit you...
And lucky they need some mechanical parts and other supplies from your city.
So I'm allowed to join the caravan and visit you.. as well buying new parts for future protheses.
Maybe you can join us...
I'm very optimistic...
At least for your unbelievable cooking skills *wink*
