The darkside detective is a fun comedy, paranormal investigation point and click game. That pays homage to old horror writers and paranormal TV shows like H.P Lovecraft and the X-Files respectively. There are six cases that each wrap pop culture references and comedic bits, light-heartedly taking the piss out of other point and click adventures and paranormal culture. With an additional seventh christmas case. Each case is separate to one another meaning that you can jump in and out of the game easily without losing the plot or forgetting where you were; like in most open ended games, such as Skyrim. Making it perfect for those who don’t have a vast amount of time on their hands.

The cases themselves aren’t naturally long. However can be drawn out depending on how fast you solve the puzzles in each case that are ingenuitive and always clear. What you would assume is the answer to solve the problem in reality is often the answer in the game. Each case excluding the seventh; which re-uses elements from past cases (breaking the fourth wall to make a joke to justify it), is completely different and gripping in different ways.

You play as Paranormal Detective Francis McQueen, a detective at TLPD. Much like Moulder in the X-Files his department is seen as a joke by other in the police department and relegated to a more dilapidated part of the station. With a dim witted sidekick called officer Dooley, who’s there to act as comedic relief and in some cases a major character to the plot. There are also various side characters that pepper the games landscape; such as the rival detective McKing and Chief Scully (another nod to the X-Files).
Overall the game is fun and accessible to all types of people. It’s got good writing and well designed puzzles. However it doesn’t have a great deal of repeatability, due to the cases being rather short, so unless you have a bad memory when repeating a case you’ll most likely remember what to do. The game cost about ten pounds, which is a little steep for the game considering it’s only about 5 hours long. There is a demo available which showcases the first case. So if this review hasn’t swayed you in one way or another you can check that out for free.

Wow 30 hours in Nekopara, what a pervert. Turns out you're one of those degenerates who spends money to look at underage anime girls with little to no clothes on. You disgust me.

I tried to watch Admiral Funderburk To try something new i loaded up Admiral Funderburk's stream as i played Elite Dangerous. At first it was fine, it made for entertain background noise; there were no subs, so i just rolled with the audio. But as it continued, something felt off. He kept saying the same thing again, and again. It went from every now and then, to every second. ever. second. The same 3 words left his mouth, maybe it was more, but it felt like only three. Over, and over. The music kept repeating the same 3 notes over, and over. 1 hour had passed, and still nothing changed. The only thing that kept me going was the voice; a little laugh, or comment would sound nice, and i kept going. He exploited my weaknesses. Drawing me into his forced Stockholm syndrome; he knew i had nothing. The black looked deep into me, alone, afraid, in exchange for sanity, he gave me fleeting moment's of joy. I don't know how long it went on; Eventually i turned it off.
