I like how it's a very calm, relaxing game but it's a bit grindy. though i've only played one profession so i can't really say for sure if it's going to be the same for other professions but i recommend this game for someone looking for a slow game kind of like animal crossing.

Don't get me wrong, i usually don't jump into a bad review if i have under 50 hours or whatever but i currently have a problem that doesn't really play its part on steam, but i'm still reviewing it here just because.

I started playing on switch which was my first game to play on it because after the hefty price tag i paid for it i was flat out broke to get any games for it so i opted for a free game and this looked fun. I remember the game asking to login or create an account to play on other platforms (which is why i have it on steam too) but i figured id just do that later and connect it later. Well turns out there is no login feature after you create a character and i already had a decent amount of hours put into the game so i contacted support to try and link my switch game to an account i had created. As of current i'm going back and forth with support cause they want me to scan a QR code to update my email but guess what.. there's an error that pops up saying its invalid. great. So i opened a normal ticket thinking the QR code scan thing was just a faster method but support once again told me to do the stupid QR BS again so thats where im at currently. I've already lost my patience with the game just because of this. I don't want to delete my character and lose its progress but i dont want my account to be deleted because i already have friend referral codes activated and i can't create an avatar on the steam version because my USERNAME IS TAKEN ON THE SWITCH. If they ever get back with me and solve my issue i'll edit this review but as of current im already quitting because of this headache.

edit - they told me because i created an account on their website that i cant have that account linked to my switch and id have to make another account using a different email. so i told them to delete this account and im not dealing with this stupid game anymore.

edit 2 - GOOD GOD. after months of them taking their sweet ass time deleting my account, i was able to create a new one, link my switch to that account and then use steam to login to that account with the same character that is on my switch.

moral of my review, DO NOT SKIP LOGINS IF YOU WANT TO CROSSPLAY YOUR CHARACTERS. THERE IS NO LOGIN/LOGOUT BUTTON AFTER YOU CREATE A CHARACTER. you'll need to go through support to link everything and they are a huge headache to deal with. otherwise im changing my review to would recommend since it is fun to play so far. (disregard steam play hours as ive been playing on my switch too)

I can't take anyone's review seriously if they don't at least have 50 hours played. Here's my take on it.

Yes, it's a melvor copy but melvor is a copy of runescape, cry about it.
This game's multiplayer is what's kept me playing for this long.
Yes, there is micro-transactions that people complain about but guess what? You can buy them in-game with gold that players sell in the player shop.
This game is extremely lengthy so don't expect to get everything maxed within a month.
The chat does suck but at least the game has a built-in feature to add a discord server invite so I just make my clan members join that since it's a better alternative to help each other out.
The dev is fairly active in the official server and from what i've seen, is the only dev so give the guy a break..

if i didnt have a full time job i'd be playing this 24/7.

This game has tons of potential. The building is a little finicky but not impossible. You CAN rotate foundations but only if you angle the mouse right. After about 2 hours of straight gameplay the game had crashed and i was going to be pretty upset if i lost all my progress but it turned out when i loaded back in i just loaded right where i previously crashed. Unsure if it was a hell of an auto save timer or if it generally saves the game no matter how you exit. A small issue that can be rather annoying is if you have a wall with a chest on one side and maybe another chest or a crafting station on the other, you can practically look into the chest through the wall and it is also finicky getting to the menu you want without seeing the open storage text and not what you're standing in front of. Otherwise besides the obvious early access bugs that will eventually be addressed, it's a pretty fun game and i'm looking forwards to whats to come.

I got this during the summer sale for like 44 cents.. If you want steam achievements and also a great way to crash steam, this game is for you. don't expect any rare achievements though cause the last one has like 78% of global players. I guess the lag and crashes some people couldn't handle lol. if you clear your post-game summary it helps tremendously with the lag and not crash steam! if you active play with an auto clicker you could clear the game super fast, don't just let it idle cause steam will crash and not count the achievements. aaaand even beefy computers have troubles so.. enjoy.

I really only got the game out of curiosity aaaaand to get the steam achievements. BASICALLYYYYY the NSFW part is just in some dumb art gallery which you can unlock as your rank gets higher and its just some cheesy pvp with no nsfw actions. There's like 3 maps and a few gamemodes but the free for all is pretty much broken and if you load up a local server filled with bots, it says that you won and will auto progress to the next game which if you aren't quick to just leaving the match and restarting, its kinda annoying. just play with max player count and with bots on team death-match and use the assault rifle while changing your sensitivity to aiming down sites and you can pretty much spawn camp the bots for the kills/ranks if you're wanting the achievements. my entire play time was purely to rank up so it doesn't take long at all.

I only suggest it if you're an achievement hunter and don't mind the game showing up on your perfect game leaderboards lmao

I literally only bought this game to get all the achievements and have a perfect game on my steam profile but in order to get Jump Record, you need the apollo 3. Which costs around 12,000 and the end game upgrade cost 10,000. So since i found the endgame upgrade first i had bought that and now even with the apollo, I'm unable to actually get the achievement because the 10k endgame booster prevents you from coming back down and there's no way to have a new save for the game, uninstalling/reinstalling didn't work, i deleted local files and it still has the same data as before. I've gotten every other achievement and this is extremely frustrating.

I got this game thinking there was matchmaking because otherwise I would just be playing single player. It isn't any fun without other team members.

On the other hand, it has amazing graphics and played/handled nicely. Maybe if they add matchmaking then I'll play again.

Played it a bit and its alright. the ship AI needs work with not bumping into allied ships and preventing you to turn. in VERY EASY mode the sharks are stupidly OP, you run into one of those at full speed and you're dead. attacking sharks is pretty damn hard even when you've completely very easy mode with the best ships. there is some graphical bugs when you're docked and your screen is slightly away from the island it makes the icons on land spaz out. there's also a huge problem with clipping buildings inside each other. was able to fit multiple 2x2 houses clipping inside each other in a tight area to maximize the amount of workers i can get. allied ships need work in general, if i have a 8 starred ship, I expect that thing to be a beast and not get destroyed by plowing into bad AI and instantly destroying itself. for a game that recently came out, i dont think its worth the 8$. might be a little too expensive for a really small game that you can grind through and complete within a few hours. updates that will help would incude AI changes (allied ships keeps a distance away so you dont run into them and prevents you from turning and keeping at the same pace), hitbox changes (i get caught on alot of the ships and is unable to attack or get away), sharks to be slightly nerfed so they arent completely invincible, clipping of structures and icon spazzing, eventually after awhile of playing when you enter a tavern the game lags HEAVILY until you close it, be more flexible with upgrades.. would kind of like a ship that i can fully upgrade to whatever stats instead of a set price.

Overall needs work. Playable but there is game cheating bugs that can give you good perks. Not sure what's causing the heavy lag issues with the tavern after you complete single player mode but that needs fixed.
