UNSIGHTED is a brilliant blend of Metroidvania and Zelda, with gorgeous pixel art, jiving soundtrack and touching story. Perhaps the biggest highlight is it's combat, which feels fluid and satisfying, especially the parrying mechanic. It helps that you have a surprising amount of customisation at your disposal.

Exploration in itself is fun but also intense and sometimes anxiety inducing depending on what mode your running. Yet, I'm referring to the time mechanic tied to both Alma (Your character) and other NPCs. Yes, for some, this can dappen the experience, but the game makes it clear you can turn this option off if you so please. However, for me, I rather loved the mechanic, as it added to the story and gave me a sense of urgency that other exploration titles just haven't.

Also, I said it before but I'll say it again, the pixel art and animation in this is absolutely jaw dropping. There's so much art and detail put into, which makes the world stand out along with the banging soundtrack.

If I did have one caveat, it's that once you acquire a lot gear and chips, it can be bit of a slog to scroll and sort through them. I'm hoping future updates will add a sorting element to the UI as a QoL improvement. There's also sometimes the need to switch weapons, which can be cumbersome sometimes.

However, the above are very minor issues for what is really adrenaline pumping experience. It helps that the game can allow you to sequence break a tone in future runs, which really ups its replayability a tone. Bottom line, if you love metroidvanias and zela and pixel art, you definitely need to give this game a try

As someone who has been a part of the open beta since it was first available, Aeon Drive is an incredibly polished indie game and platformer. The most obvious standout elements is the aesthetic and music. Good golly it's got some beautiful pixel and a wonderful tune worth jamming to. I was even surprised they had added the VO and intro cinematic to the start.

Of course these two elements marry nicely with the speedrunning aspect of the game, which has had a lot of fine tuning. The mechanics are slick once you learn and as someone who used to speedrun in the past, it can be addictive to find ways to shave off your time. It helps that the level design offers mutiple paths for you to play with.

Honestly, Aeon Drive is a great game for both casual and competitive users. Even as the former, I myself wound up replaying the game for all the extra goodies. If you enjoy speed running or simply a game with a light sci-fi story and pixel art, you'll enjoy AD

As someone who spent a good time with this game while playing the open beta, Aeon Drive has really gotten polished. The three main standout aspect being the pixel art, soundtrack and surprisingly addictive speed runs. Even as a casual player, I constantly felt the itch to try and improve my time. It helps that the controls are quite smooth, especially if you have a controller. Definitely worth a check if you enjoy both platformers, speed running or just pixel art

Early Access Review
Dimension Drive is definitely a unique shmup, even in it's early Access stage, coming across as a mix between your classic shmups and puzzle games like Portal. The dual-screen mechanic it uses a very simple in concept that, given proper exploration, has a ton of depth, something that the devs are clearly capitalizing on. It shows even in their current levels, gradually adding to each, either through obstacles, enemies, or even an additional mechanic. In fact, much of world 1 feels otherwise fairly polished, with some work still needing to be added to world 2.

Yes, there are currently only two world, each with 4 levels, something that you'll probably clear in less than an hour, and world 2 addmitedly needs some more stuff. However, given that this IS Early Access, the devs are aware of this, and are EXTREMELY open to feedback of any kind. I'm personally recommending this game largely on it's potential, and also because how interactive the dev team can be (Either on the steam forums or Discord). It may be short of content right now, but if you're a fan of the genre, I feel it's worth sticking around to help it grow.

Also, both the Artwork and music are amazing. I ended up following this game initially JUST because of the artwork, as well as the neat little story that's attached to it. Sure, Jack's background will feel familiar, but as someone who enjoy's a good story, it's been fun to follow and see grow. It's helps that art style itself really meshes well with the game type (Seriously, the comic-style is great).

And the music feels like a blast from the past with a modern spin to it.

Definitely recommend this, and if you liked what you played, I recommend jumping onto discord with the devs. They're awesome, no pun intended.
