Start on Mars. Play tutorial. Ok, I got this. Finish 5 missions. EZ game. Go to Venus. Get rekt. Lose everything. All your operatives die. Back to Mars. Feel safe. Suddenly miss 3 times in a row. Lose your last operative. Back on square 1.

Best game.

The performance of this game is ABYMSAL. I can't even play at medium settings, having a decent setup that runs most games at high where they look better than this.

Addicting, fun, thrilling, funny, and most of all, DEMOCRATIC.

Edit: After the latest Sony ToS changes, I can no longer support this game, and I do not approve their of policy. Many people from countries that could play the game now can't, and Sony has big trouble with security of stored personal data. I will not support such policies, nor will I give my personal information to someone who can't keep it safe.

Edit 2: Democracy won. I'm doing my part.

Edit 3: Between the Sony debucle, the unfun premium packs, and the constant nerfs to the guns I use, it has become unfun to play the game, and I can no longer recommend it. I hope future updates can change my opinion when I revisit the game in the future.

Would I recommend it? Hell yeah!

For a Bugthesda game, it's very light on the bugs department. I encountered my first one after about 10 hours of playing!!!

Overall, this is an amazing game. Bethesda really delivered this time. Compared to Fallout 4, the characters are much better, there is a lot of roleplaying you can do, your companions remember your actions and things you said to them, and bring it up in later conversations. The factions are all interesting and morally grey, no clear good guy/ bad guy. I don't think Bethesda has ever done a better RPG from that perspective. It's on par, and even surpasses Obsidian's Fallout New Vegas.

Besides that, the gunplay is smooth, 95% of the skills are useful and/or fun, the shipbuilding will make you spend hours designing your dream ship, and the graphics and universe are amazing.

The bad things are: lack of ability to customize ship interiors and placement of doors/ladders, which will make shipbuilding quite less fun than it could be; procedurally generated locations get kinda repetitive after a while, some classic Bethesda bugs mostly to do with collision and physics, some quality of life stuff is lacking like maps for towns or the ability to stop tracking certain resources. Overall, minor things.

Very fun, but very buggy. I would recommend waiting for a few patches to come out for the game to be stable before buying. At the moment, I cannot recommend paying full price for it.

After 60 hours, my game is no longer playable due to a bug that makes me crash anytime I try to save, which is rather annoying to say the least.

Edit: Patch 1 did not fix the problem. I spent another hour trying to solve it, but nothing works. I will keep waiting.

DO NOT BUY. YOU WILL GET ADDICTED TO WALKING (and later, driving).

I love the progression of the game. It keeps adding new and refreshing mechanics, even after 42 hours of playtime. And the story is VERY original. I highly recommend the game.

X4 Foundations is truly a great game. A simulation almost. For a quick review: if you like space combat, trade or exploration, definitely check this one out. It is continuously being improved, and as of writing this in version 5.1, the game has improved a lot, with many QoL enhancements.

The game is VERY deep, and simulates an economy VERY well. All the ships you see flying around were once a rock that a ship mined. Once you start doing ANY activity in the game, you start impacting your universe. And I find that amazing.

The music is also a great plus in this game. Specially the one introduced in the Split Vendetta DLC. And the preview of the Kingdom's End DLC is also, pun intended, music to my ears.

Good game. As of writing, there are some bugs, but not any major ones. Story is great, and playability feels quite unique.
