Honestly? Just pick up original Oblivion for $5 and mod it for graphics. Bethesda doesn't know how to use Unreal Engine yet, and that doesn't look good for ES6. Highest settings- lowest settings- motion blur off- doesn't matter, everything will still smudge and have black shadow outline trails.

Graphics and performance aside; 15 crash to desktops and counting so far.

At first it's mind numbingly boring, then for a few hours it picks up and wow you'll never do everything this game has to offer, then a few more hours later you realize you've done everything this game has to offer and all the points of interest are copy paste.

How is everything a direct downgrade from Skyrim and Fallout 4? Very disappointing, Bethesda. Very much so not worth $70.

My issues that I've been having have been fixed per the dev team. It's playing good. Super fun game.

Been playing since old 2d browser-based Dead Frontier. I have followed this game for years, played the original since I was in highschool, and have met some nice people through the community.

Having said that, do not waste your time on this game. Such a wonderful concept, but unfortunately the owner of this franchise has lost his vision, and continues to add "content" solo as an inundated mess. The majority of content added that this game will see within a year will be multiple releases of cosmetics, along with possibly increasing the level cap of a game already so fit for grinding you may as well be strapping your hands to a wood sander.

Neil's priorities are making babies and feeding those babies. As such, that is why he reversed his promise that "this game would not be pay-to-win." Credits can be bought and sold to buy the bloated, overpriced items that are farmed by the whales of this game. Essentially the downfall of Dead Frontier 3D, except that it was P2W from near the beginning. And, after watching the tumble that Dead Frontier 2D took, it was inevitable that history repeat itself.

Now, here we are, back to his twice-abandoned project and sequel. All the promises broken; at least we're out in the clear that this game is everything he said it wouldn't be. And, eventually, when we hear of Neil's 10th child on the way, we can expect another revamp of the same game system, except maybe this one will be first person, without locked melee animations, and a wonderful, soul-fulfilling promise of a "non pay-to-win experience. :)"

Take the 70%+ positive reviews with a grain of salt, as Neil also uses this as the indicator of weather the game is worth continuing development on. There have been a few instances of some questionable methods of trying to keep this above 70%.

Trailer includes content that is not implemented; it has just enough content to hit the two hour refund mark.

Neat concept, poor execution. Definitely rushed and released to get on that beta train. Cannot recommend in its current state.

I mean, it's pretty. But, there is very little replayability, despite what some reviews say. Yeah, you get some "new bosses" during a new play through. But the components they drop to make new weapons/accessories are absolute booty compared to the base guns. I feel as though 90% of the work into this game went into polish and making sure the 10 weapons look good. But, there is no variety and really no way to make fun or different builds.

Unfortunately I've wasted too much of my life on this game to not recommend it. Yeah, you'll suck at first, but it has an incredibly high skill ceiling. Matchmaking is relatively balanced when there are enough people playing. I'm happy they're removing crates, because the game was seemingly more enjoyable before their addition. The recent addition of the party-up feature is also quite nice when you find like-minded people with more than three brain cells that understand how to rotate and when to appropriately challenge.

People at higher ranks tend to tilt very easily at the honest mistakes/misplays of others, but at the end of it all, it happens. It's important to remember that it's just a game. Some of the saltiest people I've met in game I have befriended (or attempted to), and they've turned out to be very nice people. It's just very easy for this game to get under your skin when the main objective is to "improve your skills." Which a lot of people correlate to rank. Of course losing five games in a row sucks, but the only way to improve is to play and learn from any mistakes.

The anti-aliasing is absolutely booty in this game; but, nothing reshade can't fix, or at least improve. Still disappointing that some better alternative hasn't been added or the game itself hasn't been modified for improved anti-aliasing, because it really makes a difference in terms of clarity and knowing when to challenge.

edit: jk they made it worse, lol

*Arguably* one of the best games on steam, if you like the genre.
