Bait and Switch by Publisher.
Releases game with no restrictions, lots of sales.
Retroactively applies restrictions. Players in certain regions will lose access to the game despite already having paid for it. Classic.

Early Access Review
Any purchase of the founders packs will be a waste of money.
I played exactly one match after the tutorial and realized this game is not ready for prime time and is not worthy of being put for sale yet.

Everything about this game needs work.
Graphical theme isn't cohesive,
Looting/opening crates isn't a smooth experience.
Movement is slow and heavy. You don't feel like you're in control.
Shooting lacks impact from both the gun and the bullet impacts.
Ammo Economy must have been an afterthought. You aren't going to have ammo for your guns.
The AI enemies are slow and unresponsive, and scream loudly when you enter their line of sight, announcing they have spotted you. Since you will always be made immediately aware when one targets you, they are not a threat and are easily killed. Seems they are there more to be an ammo drain than an actual apposing force.
Can't tell if lag or bad netcode, hitmarkers are visibly and audibly behind. Makes shooting feel all the worse.
Extraction zones just melt you through the floor, and only take a few seconds to active. It makes no sense and is all around just bad.

With the all too recent loss of Cycle: Frontier, Steam could use a new extraction shooter.
But this ain't it. Unless they make major overhaul improvements, wait for Marathon to come out, or go play COD / Tarkov.

I will be keeping my eyes open for a major patch to give this game another go. Until then, stay away.

Takeaway: Game doesn't offer replay-ability.

PVP: Got bored after my 4th match (3 wins 1 loss). Also, the matchmaking servers are terrible. It shouldn't take me 10+ minuets to fill an 8 player match on LAUNCH DAY. I would also like to add how much I despise tying any number of achievements to multiplayer for a single player focused game. Also, how is there not a matchmade horde mode? This seems like a huge miss and seems like the easiest, most obvious thing in the world.

PVE: Campaign plot hook is super mega weak. But the 'story' is good enough, and seems like an interesting precursor to the main game is probably the best thing about the game. That being said, it isn't nearly long enough. 8.3 hours to beat the campaign on normal for my first blind play through, and once you beat the boss, there is literally nothing to do. No more bad guys, no reason to defend villages. Worse more, there is nothing to show for my completion for PVE or PVP. There is nothing to grind for, nothing to build towards. There is no real replayability in the game. Once I beat it again on legend for the rest of my achievements, I might uninstall as I will have absolutely nothing left to do.

As for the core game play itself, as it was designed to play on console, that limited the complexity. It's a very simple game. There's 4 types of units, and 2 tiers. But once you unlock a specific T2 unit, (ranged) the game immediately becomes easier as they have insane range.

That being said, the Legend difficulty is proving more than I can handle as a solo player. Not only are the enemies buffed but the player is nerfed. This drastically changes every engagement to either a swift loss or a really hard fought struggle. While normal campaign took me 8 hours to complete (i'm sure I could do it in half the time if I tried again), I'm estimating that beating the campaign on Legend is going to take me 30+ hours.

All in all, I can't really recommend for the price until they give me a reason to play it again. I hope Microsoft continues to invest in the game, because it could be tons of fun and a staple for years to come. But as the only person on my entire friends list who's even purchased this game, I feel the lack of match-made multiplayer activities. A once a month new mission for a skin isn't going to cut it for refreshing content. (non match-made also. WHY)

Scratches the battle royal itch and is free.

One downside is that there is a dog and you cannot pet it.
