Bury's Honest Review

I have it on the PS4 and I also bought it on Steam. I absolutely love this game, and with KBAM (keyboard and mouse) It's so much better. I feel more agile than I did with a controller, yet sometimes playing this game with a controller is nice.

Edit: People keep complaining about it being a bad PC port, but I've had nothing but good experiences. Odd

The
Story
The story of this game is amazing. One of the most, if not the most immersive story I've personally experienced in my gaming career. The lore is extremely well done, you feel connected with all of the characters due to the different dialogue options you can choose from, the combat and hunteresq style of the game adds to it, the supporting characters are great and of course, the scenery. The whole world is alive and feels like it's yours to explore and have fun in. You don't have to do the main story right away but you can, and you truly can play the game however you want. Run and gun hunter? Go for it. Sneaky sue? Go for that too. A mix of both or just ignoring the combat all together? You can do that as well (besides the needed combat scenes)

A very pleasant experience for a solo player, a casual player, a hardcore player, you name it.

The game has a Story+ mode when you've completed it that allows you to go back through with all of your gear from the last play through, which to me even adds a bit of replay ability.

Overall, a must have game.

Movement? Movement is flawless in my opinion. KBAM climbing is a bit wonky, but once you get it down it's great. I truly feel immersed in the world that I'm moving in and the combat is so fluid and amazing that I have to play at a harder difficulty just to make up for the extra movement that KBAM allows me vs. a controller. (my controller aim is poo, but if you use it in this game, it has a great aim assist function that works pretty flawlessly imo)

Graphics?
Not the greatest, but definitely not bad. They're pretty fantastic and the ambiance of the game is extremely well done.

Animations for talking are a bit wonky (not that it's a game breaker). Every character seems to talk with their teeth a bit too closed and there's zero tongue movement. Just something I noticed, but not everyone is going to care. Edit: Some animations are just fine. Sometimes Aloys are a bit weird but other than that they're decent.

Bugs? I've had a few bugs so far. Mostly with launching and it crashing if I did any commands too quick. I'm used to running multiple monitor setups with me tabbing between them a lot, and while you can easily do that in game, if I did it during any loading times or anything, sometimes it bugged out.

Now down to the nitty gritty.
Performance
I run a 2060 super with a base 3.0ghz i7 with a 4.7ghz OC at 1440p

While I can most certainly run the game at Ultra Quality Mode, I do only get about 50 or 40 fps. Which if you're coming from console is no big deal, but I also use a 144hz monitor so it's pretty noticeable to me.

So I scaled it back again. If I run it at the "Original" settings *of which I assume are the consoles default settings* the game still looks phenomenal and runs amazingly well. But since I'm not an FPS snob, I pumped up the things that my computer could handle, and toned back the others that it couldn't, so I have a pretty constant 90-120fps for the new graphics which I love. Albeit the crashing every now and again because I've been playing this game for so long already, the game not only performs well (suck it people who kept saying day 1 performance issues) but it also is extremely fluid.

Overall this game is a must have in my opinion. The 40$ price point is completely worth it as they didn't have to port a PS4 only exclusive. No I'm not mad that they did either because I always imagined how much better this game would be with KBAM. So much so I bought it full price twice. (though if you can get it on sale, of course do it, but I wouldn't wait if you're stoked to play it as the developers did a great job)

9.5ish/10
due to wonky animations with dialogue, and some crashing but not game breaking bugs while still being one of the best games I've ever played.
