This DLC has some of the most technical fights I have ever faced in a souls game and you are forced to witness every part of the adversaries move sets and plan for them. A lot of the characters' move sets also build upon one of the best mechanics added to Elden Ring where bosses will punish your eagerness to catch them at the end of a combo by continuing a chain after a move that looks as if it is the final move of the original chain. This DLC forces you to be restrained instead of greedy and really take care when you are attacking. The NPC's you meet along the way, although their stories are more brief than their base game counterparts, most of them feel deeper and more connected to the actions you make throughout. The addition of new weapon and item classes instead of just new DLC weapons makes the areas a must play for new builds and items. I never cared for the original crafting system, but these new additions really make taking time to gather materials worth it. The addition of a strength based throw-able item (A big rock) is amazing and I love it. This is also the first time I've used markers ever, as there are some hidden areas that are unmarked as you plow through them, and talking with friends I've realized I may have been the only one in my groups to find these special places. The lore additions are some of the juiciest but also most comprehensible drops I have experienced in a souls game, if you understand the main story you will understand the DLC's additions to that story a lot easier than piecing together base game drops. While the latter is fun as well, it is really refreshing to know I don't have to open a VaatiVidya to get the main basis of what is going on and even a lot of the more minor details. I have never seen a Fromsoft DLC that was more cohesive and well thought out with direct ties to the main story, whether it be from actual dialogue, environmental storytelling or weapon and item descriptions. This DLC is a must purchase and will make the base game even a better experience as we start using the special weapons received from the DLC. (Light Greatsword FTW).

Another Landfall grand slam. Fun solo, fun duos, fun full squad. Gameplay is silly but sticks to really well oiled mechanics.
