SM2 - in its current state Brings you three prongs of content: First, a curated and well-written campaign, with 3 player coop (with unique interactions when played in such a manner, which was a nice touch). The two characters your "battle-brothers" play in said coop are fully written into the story whether they're piloted by the computer or your mates, and are not just jobbers who spectate the main characters' tasks. Being someone into the warhammer universe, I was presently aware of a lot of the story aspects - however friends of mine who are not in the scene at all also enjoyed the story and plot provided.

Secondly, Operations. There are missions performed by side characters, also written into the story, representing different "classes" which each have full progression trees; with additional progression for your weapons independant of the classes (meaning if a class shares a weapon, you progress it for all classes that use said weapon). I found the way these were associated with the story very interesting, made "yourDude" feel impactful and cool. Difficulty rides on your level as well as your skill, you can't just jump to the top difficulty and complete everything on its hardest and call it a day, you gotta work for it, which I prefer as it feels like myDude is actually progressing.

Finally, PvP. In its current state, its decently balanced and simple in all the right ways. Melee can be a bit of a miss, but besides from that it's a fantastic experience and what I have sunk the most hours in thus far. The classes are the same as those you play in Operations - and the visual customisation carries across - but the loadouts differ, a promising prospect indicating that PvP will be balanced in isolation, a thing which lots of PvE/PvP games don't like to do for some reason. I see a lot of people complain that they can't beat X, or that Y is too strong, and 99% of the time i've seen that - its because they're not using the thing that definitely helps counters said strong thing. 3 (with more to come) game modes keeps things varied, though everyone i've met has their favourite they primarily queue into, and three maps (also with more to come) - whilst small in number - I feel are incredibly well designed and thought-out from a gameplay perspective, making me look forward to the additional ones coming.

We know both operations and pvp are going to be recieving ongoing content patches, we'll be getting a survival game mode, and more as the game lives - none of which will be paywalled. The only paid DLC will be cosmetic, like the good old days.

Games like this, and Wukong, are great examples of AAA titles releasing in complete packages. Rife with content, stable and performing well (my rig isn't fantastic, rocking a 2060 gpu) was a lovely surprise. at £55 quid I think this is a great retail release, and the sequel the first deserved and more; bringing awesome visuals and mechanics alike.

Another absolutely incredible piece of work by Tom Francis and his crew, props to them all. A fantastic strategy game worth the long development wait, that time went well invested! I played the demo and took part in one of the beta test waves, and having been keeping a tab on the pulse of this game and am so happy it's out, and it really has lived up to what i'd hoped for! Charming visuals and clever design, awesomely written characters and story with brilliant world building - some of my favourite parts so far have actually been the characters and their interactions, and I am very invested in their stories! Smaller titles don't usually hook my interest when it comes to story and lore, but I've been finding myself leaving no stone unturned with this it's so well written. The gameplay itself is no pushover, thinking smart and tactically really scratches the tile-based strategy itch that the likes of Mechanicus filled most recently, but with more puzzley elements that make it very engaging! About halfway through act 3 and am having a blast, didn't want to put it down. Highly recommend! Well done to the folks at SusDev!

Absolutely phenomenal and fun experience. Gunplay feels great, movement feels great, bullet time feels awesome, and you can pull some super neat tricks! A very fun experience worth its cost without a doubt.

Early Access Review
God I've missed you. The only grip I have is the item icons, feel very out of place for the game IMO; but other than that; I feel right at home. I've really missed Paragon, and damn this is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ close. You're really able to tell that the devs *want* it to feel like old Paragon, and In my opinion it really does.

I've missed you, Sevarog, Beloved.

[EDIT]: I have found out the item icons are confirmed to be merely generic placeholder due to it being in early access, meaning they can focus on other aspects of the game functionality before appearance. This makes my opinion - which was already high - higher! It is also an important bit of context for those looking at the game, but are put off by the jarring contrast in art style.

I think this is one of my favourite games of all time

I'm no fromsoft omegafan. I've played the soulsborne series (bar demon souls) but this is something else. It is so much fun! There's a big open world and a lot to do, and there is a simple story - that I can't wait to delve into when the lore becomes more public. I've had no major stability issues and i'm on a 1050Ti with 32GB RAM, Medium settings (in which the game is still gorgeous, I envy all who uphold maximum).

I did, however, have the infamous white screen freeze but disabling steam overlay seemed to fix that. A lot of people don't seem vigilant enough to find simple fixes but then again, there could be an argument that you shouldn't need to.

But i'm glad I did, because this game is phenomenal on every level. Difficult, yes, but that can be absolved by farming and levelling for a more casual experience.
