You work for a company called ficsit which sends you on a mission to an undiscovered planet. On this planet you are to find various resources and make factories to obtain them faster. When you research stuff you send them back to ficsit to complete milestones which will advance your factory setups and progress you further through the game.

There are a few major bugs in the game such as if you crash you could lose items that were on your person. When you come back on the game and this occurs you are to kill your clone for your items back. This is rare but can sometimes be a frequent occurrence after the first time.

With that in mind the game is in early access and the team behind the game are always looking to improve the game by fixing bugs and providing content.
