Building is better, graphics are hardware dependent but is usually better, many QOL issues fixed - still some of the same old bugs. Solid game. Old game still pretty good in comparison. Much better mod support built in FTW, Cross-play a bonus.

Could use some quality of life improvements in the UI but this game is already very compelling

Dig and shoot bugs, blow them up good - dig more minerals and run a pipe - darkness blinds you, explore... don't let the corporation win by surviving and collecting that sweet loot! Go Go Go!

A little frustrating and repetitive at the start, but that is like many survival games. As soon as you have a harvesting and feeding rhythm it gets pretty fun. Multi-player certainly adds a lot, in death mitigation and resource collection, but if you can juggle some things you can go it alone.
The story kicks in just as you are starting to wonder what is next, which is perfect. Lots of islands to explore and a growing tech-tree of things to build to help you on your way.
Just don't let your raft leave you behind... as soon as you try to play "Island" instead of "Raft" the game just dumps you for not cooperating.
