Do you like the early game in Colony Simulators where every hand on deck counts, and you struggle to survive until you finally establish a stably colony, where things start to get tedious?

This game is exactly that. Distilled "young colony sim" with a roguelike twist. A single run lasts 1-3h, depending on gamespeed and ends when your colony is "established" and doesn't need your guidance anymore.
...at least that's the theory.

In practice for higher levels of play you can cobble together something that will check all boxes for an "established colony", but would fall apart instantly after you're gone - doesn't matter, onwards to establish the next colony!

The gameplay loop is magnificent, the roguelike aspect comes from only a small selection of buildings (production, farming, leisure, etc) being available in any given run. Same with the ressources on the map. You constantly need to adapt, refocus, and lock in on a winning strategy if you want to prevail at the higher difficulties. (>20 levels of incremental difficulty)
The polishing is amazing, there are so many thoughtful features and quality of life measures - players with hundreds of hours still learn new things now and then.

There is meta progression, where more difficult concepts and gameplay elements are also locked behind, which I usually dont like, but in this case it keeps newer players from being overwhelmed, because boy, are there many possibilities to shape your colony.

10/10 perfect mashup game for strategy/colony sim and rouglike fans, or just for one half that want to experience a new twist on their favourite genre :-)

Don't get thrown off by the outdated visuals, this game offers deep and satisfying gameplay. A must for all turn-based strategy fans.

Deckbuilder-like rogue-like-like. Nice difficulty curve and tons of gameplay warping challenges!

I love deckbuilders and am very critical and still my expectations got blown away here

My first playthrough was 90 minutes, but these one-and-a-half hours were filled with wonder, awe and amazement NEVER felt before with a videogame. I caught myself uttering "oh my god" repeatedly, because I was so perplexed by the sheer genius of the developers regarding gameplay and narrative.
