Excellent story, excellent voice acting, and the production quality (in many cases) makes me think AAA as opposed to Indie. I'm also a huge fan of the timing based combat, it reminds me of Legend of Dragoon or the (Paper)Mario RPGs. If you're good at timing, you can entirely avoid taking damage by dodging - or if you're good enough to get the parry timing down you can avoid damage *and* launch a counterattack. Very satisfying.

The character customization and build options are also great. There are build guides out there, but the game isn't really difficult enough to force you to always opt for the "best" options in any given case. Each character's weapon options offer new build options to experiment with, and I haven't really struggled making things work in any given scenario.

Respec resources are fairly plentiful, so you can go back and completely change your characters build to suit your needs basically on the fly.

I am thoroughly loving this game.
It's worth checking out for the story and acting alone.
Plus, its on gamepass as well if you access to that.

I've owned this game for years and started over and over again, but haven't been able to make it click. Yet.
The new Expansion looks super promising, and motivation to actually get to space.

That said, (and imo) this is absolutely the best game of it's kind (automation/logistics/building).

I'll figure out what's wrong with me, fix that, then I can enjoy this awesome game.

Having a blast playing this so far. The fun factor vs cost of entry is insane!

OK - Ignore my playtime for the moment, I've been worked off my feet lately.

This is one of those games that will lodge itself into your limbic system and not leave.
I have only 4hrs played at the moment, but I think about the gameplay loop in the back of my head all the time.

Imagine if you took Vampire Survivors (monster density), made it 3rd person - added character progression and loot, leaderboards, seasons (Season 2 JUST started), and a bit of crafting and "hideout" management.

Yeah you get exactly what you expect. Tonnes of mobs, items and weapons styles (abilities are largely determined by the weapon class you're using), a seemingly never-ending progression system with the Rupture mechanic, and multiple systems working together to eventually make your character... a walking ball of circling elemental dragons maybe?
It's your call.
