The game reinforces the fact that half measures are not sufficient to avert calamity. You need to make drastic changes to electrical production, use of fuel and food supply chains almost immediately or you will fail. The trick is to ensure you do not push it so far that the population rebels against you nor let your political power go negative.

Tips:
- Early game policies are quick wins that will give you political power within a cycle - enact a few per cycle to ensure you don't go negative.
- Thinking vegan is the best way to save the world? Think again - maybe growing some artificial meat isn't so bad after all.
- Focus on clean electricity before trying to overhaul fuel too much (you can make some investments in blue/grey hydro at the start) - mass electrification makes the demand for fuel substantially less and then lets you focus on something like green hydrogen. Fusion nuclear is also an option if you can unlock it. Heavy early migration of fossil fuel electricity to solar and wind will also give large blocks of political points to use.
