Apex is a game categorized as a movement shooter where an input device starts off with 60% aim assist (100% being lock on aim bot) and has files that can be edited to allow the player to be outrageously evasive when it comes to movement.

The developers think this is not cheating and are okay with the massive disadvantage any unmodded player has when playing the game.

I must be JFK, because not even a replay will reveal who killed me or from where. Even with all the evidence.

This game is built to feel like you died to a cheater. It's the norm to get 1-tapped, just like it's normal for people to hit consecutive shots through walls just on the sound you're making. The lengths people will go to guard and destroy a body are ruthless. Communication between randoms is discouraged because anyone nearby will hear your chat and any teammate on the other side of the house can't hear it. I cannot aim, die multiple times a match to mechanics everyone else has a better grasp on than me, and yet still land in the above-average 4-star elo.

I'm honestly surprised people find it enjoyable.

Honestly, the multiplayer is in a terrible state. Takes about 3 restarts for 1 or 2 games through refusal to connect and other errors. Controller is given so many advantages that facing them feels like competing against aim hacks. The pay monetization plan is atrocious, I'd much rather pay for a full game, preferably not in the current state, and have customization available as I spend time.

Any game that launched like this would have been struggling to not be dead on arrival. This hangs off of IP alone. Maybe it'll get better.

It's been a nice 5 years. The game has had it's ups and downs. A rough, rocky start into a pretty smooth journey. There have been questionable choices along the way, but things trended to be nice. For a PvP game, it has a very passive community. Without the sharp anger I've run into in many other games. But I never played ranked.

It seems like the game's coming to an end. The most recent changes have taken away much of the player's individual ability to hold their own in combat. Less time is spent fighting, and more getting knocked around like a pinball. The most recent heroes have been an embodiment of this too. All stuns and fast flowing combos, compounded and stuffed with special attacks. Each change to bring heroes up to speed instead raises the skill floor even further. I would not be surprised if player retention was at an all time low. Everything has been trending, and seems to continue trending, to where you need to be playing the best heroes or be one of the best players yourself. The sight of someone fighting off a 3v1 has dwindled to a rare treat from a common occurrence.

Of course I'm a little bitter. For Honor has been the most relaxing way to sate the competitive desire while not simultaneously frustrating me to no end. That's no longer the case. It's fraught with frustration and lack of agency. Just the sight of a few of the heroes leads to the regret of playing another match. At least it's good for the weapon models and cosmetics. They make for fun references.

It was a nice game, but as with many competitive games out there, constant additions and updates have led to a power creep that outpaces most players. You were fun while you lasted.

DO NOT BUY if you have an ACOUSTIC guitar.

The game does not allow you to tune your guitar at all. Registers my microphone, but will not register the guitar strings. I am fully aware of the ins and outs of my more than capable microphone, and tuned my guitar before hand. The only thing you can do with an acustic guitar in this case is play disconnected, severely limiting the features of this game.

Team? What Team? There is no I in Team, this title is misleading. The only thing those maggots that share your color do is drag you down. You need to step up and take your self to victory, there's no one to piggy back you there. If anything, it should be you piggy backing them to victory, and you'll probably break your back while doing it.

Bad Community, Bad Servers, Good Game.
Don't play without doing so with someone expirienced.
