Great writing, setting, and characters. Play first time blind.

Game looks incredible. The water and spell effects would have vaporized any SNES or GBA that tried to render them. EXP requirements for leveling up have been halved, so far less grinding is required.
However, the game is mechanically shallower than the 3DS version, as the 3DS version has a bunch of changes to make the combat more dynamic and interesting. This version adheres to the original mechanics, which is great if you're looking to revisit this game in more or less its original form, but the 3DS version has a lot to offer too.
Recommend both, prefer the 3DS version for mechanics, but this one looks a lot better.

10/10, would play as a spacefaring plant trying to oppress everyone with peace again

The most important thing to consider when going into this game is that its not an infinitely replayable rougelike experience. Its not Slay the Spire or Binding of Isaac. Its very story focused, and you will have experienced everything this game has to offer in like 20 hours. Its not terribly difficult, It, however, is a very memorable game with amazing visuals and interesting game mechanics. The story and setting both really intrigued me and kept me interested the whole way through. There are long (but optional) conversations establishing the world and the plot, and if you aren't big into reading, that could get tedious for you.

Very enjoyable for myself, 7/10 would plunge humanity into another dark age.

I remembered seeing the trailer for this just prior to the full release, and I was immediately excited.
I got this game "launch day" for the Early Access, and there have been quality updates that have been consistently released. The developers clearly care about this title, and I am excited to see what else they have in store.
Fantastic twist on the whole "rougelike deckbuilder" genre, with plenty of fun cards to work with.

Somebody please help me. I can't stop playing Rimworld. My wife left me. CPS took my kids. My cat died in the other room because nobody fed him. The landlord posted an eviction notice. I have 30 more days before I have to leave. I can't get my life back together because of this game. Its just too good.

About an hours worth of content. Worth every penny.

10/10, would get genocided by nuclear Ghandi again

Very steep learning curve and will punish you for every mistake you make. Play for a bit and then look up tips on a wiki to get started.
10/10 would get killed by my own spells again.

Bought for background music for D&D quest. Es Good
