It's fallout but way less exciting. I wish there was a way to remove the atom shop from existence.

Edit: The game is terrible

Explaining this game is hard, but I'll give it my best shot and try not to ruin the magic of it.

Imagine a fulfilling journey full of mystery with innumerable possibilities and chances.

Now, imagine your choices aren't limited by time, but your actions are. You could do anything you want within that amount of time, for multiple times until you became a master at it. Your life is no longer bound by the idea that you only have one chance to understand and execute an action, and you build a full understanding of the world around you.

And then you just choose to die.

DLC review: Imagine thinking dying is bad.

This game is great, I've honestly never played a VR title that scratches the exploration and combat itch many others have left me longing for. While there are a few bugs still in this niche little indie game, it's proven to be a competent VR title that could compete against Half-Life: Alyx in terms of inventory management and weapon modification. If you've enjoyed Pavlov VR, then you would definitely be interested in this.

I highly recommend you do not play on realism mode however, enemies are fairly broken once you progress far enough and the difficulty will sneak up on you, turning your tense and immersive exploration into a headache inducing race to get your items back.

To the devs: I would like a few things to be considered if you were to read this, stealth is extremely hard on realism mode to the point of hiding on the hill near the power plant (the one you left a nagant on) to be negligible in terms of stealth. While messing around with the rifle, I had noticed many enemies were shambling up the side of the rock along with teleporting at me as well. I would highly recommend implementing some artifact that lets you know when you're spotted like the thief or metro series. Additionally, I believe I've been unable to notice a change in enemy awareness when switching from realism to story mode, mimics will still catch you from quite a distance such as across the river to the south of previously mentioned power plant, as well as the large lake to the east of it as well. This will alert practically everything in the area to your presence and can be very punishing.

To conclude, this game definitely has some flaws and some drawbacks, but I believe if you show this team your support they'll continue to update the game and improve their wonderful tribute to the scene games like STALKER and METRO have left players waiting to be filled for so long.

Here's hoping there's a sequel that's much more feature rich!

I backed this when it came out due to the excitement of mechwarrior not being dead after stealing multiple IPs worth of mechs.

When it first came out, it was decently fun with good multiplayer that had simple mech selection and part swapping. I then left for some time and returned to playing MW 4 and tons of other mech games such as Mech Commander due to how much I like singleplayer stuff. When I Reopened this game I hoped for a simple mech selection and customization menu. I did not receve this and instead found miles and miles of mastery pages for mechs and complex part swapping that should put the creators to shame.

Here's hoping MW 5 isn't a big stinker.

Beyond update takeaways (played for about 6 hours on an old survival save):

- Base building still sucks, constantly running into roadblocks that will require you to go explore for the sake of finding resources instead of being able to construct a base.
+Base combat missions are legitimately impossible, throwing you against a sentinel walker and preventing you from progressing until you kill it. The mission will cause sentinels to constantly spawn on your base until you complete the mission.

- Base power system is heavily bugged.
+Placing batteries within a structure on one of the snap points will not connect them to the power grid strangely enough, causing you to connect wires manually.

- Progession is unclear and terrible.
+30 hrs in still no car.
+Still unable to land at base, building a base still feels unnatural. Possibly a bug with my old save not having newer building items but no landing pad or decent foundations is a large negative

- Explored player hub for 5 mins, lay out is better and it seems to be a fun way to give direction to your exploration.

TL;DR - Game is still based around jumping from system to system and living as a space hobo suckling on the undercarriage of planets to warp to the next system.

Play long enough and you'll upgrade to a rich hobo that can buy fuel and establish trade, eventually losing your goals and striving to make a profit from exploiting nearby systems and trying to grow roots by building a base, only to give up and be frustrated by those roots being blocked by walls that want you to explore for 2 hours each.

2021 Review: While this game was super exciting at the start, the devs have mostly squandered their potential and released very little in terms of actual progression of the game. There's a lot of upgrades that simply exist to exist. There's no big reason to upgrade your research rate, and likewise your only reason to upgrade power is to ensure something can fill a large battery. After you do this, you essentially dig down minecraft style 9 times until you can complete the game.

I remember a long time ago where the devs promised some KSP-like mechanics when building your spaceship and maybe even space stations, but honestly resource gathering and management is very barebones in a low-dev high-concept implementation shined up to give star citizen a run for it's money.

2016 Review: Pretty solid, currently the game is pretty entertaining for 20 dollars but suffers from the usual early access issues like random crashes a few hours into the game. That said, I really enjoyed the base building and how cute the graphics looked, it's definitely a promising start. Don't go into the game expecting a full experience right now and simply enjoy the fluid UI and how simply fun it is for an hour or so. With co-op, progress might go too fast but for singleplayer, it was a very relaxing and harmless experience.
