TL;DR - I enjoy the game and would recommend it to others quite easily.

Going to throw out a missconception that has been circling around since release of the game that its a "survival" game. It's not, you're attempting to survive against the enemy in the same way when you're playing a Call of Duty campaign or the like, doesn't make CoD a Survival game because of that.

There are also no survival elements in the game, more RPG elements than Survival since you have no Food/Water/Sleep meeters which is lovely. I hate the living hell out of them :)

Content wise the game currently has a decent amount of stuff to do, but if you're among the people that generally only plays a game once to complete the story and then doesn't touch it until you have more new stuff to do to repeat the same thing again, then Generation Zero might be a game you shouldn't play.

I generally fall into that category myself but I've found enjoyment in the game regardless of knowing pretty much 99.99% of the game by heart, I've replayed it several times over since Launch and always have fun when playing the game, and even more so if I'm just playing with 1 more friend since it allows me to do more dumb stuff without worrying too much xD Like going #YOLO onto a tank with just Landmines or using nothing but frag grenades to knock it down!

I wont say the game is flawless or that there are no issues since that is just lying (every game has issues, and more or less depending on your preference/expectations). For example GenerationZero uses a Tetris (Diablo etc) like Inventory system which I'm a super duper big anti-fan of, I hate it like the plague. But it's stuff you can deal with.

I know a decent amount of people have run into issues with like progression blockers or crashes etc and so have I, but I've never once felt like the devs didn't care or that it wouldn't be resolved in a timely manner. Many issues have been resolved since Launch and more stuff that the Community wanted has been added as well. (Bikes as transporation and Plundra which is a storage container found in like all safe houses) So I got hope and faith that issues that the community actually brings forth in a civil manner (Saying game is sh*t, pliz fix. Obviously won't work since you're not saying what specifically) so that the Devs can work on it.

So after playing 641 hours (At the time of writing) would I recommend the game to people? Yes, yes I would, quite a lot. Especially if you can also play with others, and if none of your friends got the game, the games Discord is quite active and generally you can find people to play with there.

200+hrs later from the original posting at 641hrs , the game has received tons of love from the developers and the community feedback is being absorbed (Melee weapons for example), so if you STILL haven't tried the game, then ya really should.
