It has great graphics, especially for a VR game. It has an amazing atmosphere. However, the gameplay is most closely related to HL2E1, the worst of the series. The Jeff section is extremely buggy and is the main thing that ruined the game for me.

With the index controllers it's pretty much impossible to grab things with your right hand without switching to random weapons (unless you only press the trigger), due to some genius at valve deciding that binding scroll wheel was a good idea. I'm pretty sure you can rebind it though.

90% of your time spent will be looking around for ammo. It's a horror game with some basic or tedious puzzles, not really an action game.

Trash console game badly ported to PC. Also DX12 so don't even bother installing it if you haven't downgraded to windows 10.

I bought the game as soon as it came out and it's been terrible the entire ~7 years. You join a server (right after a wipe of course) and from there it's RNG whether or not you die.

Just like fortnite, if you get an unlucky drop or aren't fast enough, you're defenseless against other people with bows which will KOS you and take your 20 cloth and 100 wood.

There's a good chance you'll run for 30 minutes without finding enough of either cloth, stone, or food. By the time you get your 1x2 setup you'll be getting raided by people who have somehow already gotten guns.

Server admins are all useless armchair neckbeards - the only thing they do is ban people for saying the gamer word or calling somebody a bundle of sticks. Chinese cheaters run rampant on most servers.

Character customization is non-existent. Your race+gender is determined by your steamid, and certain character colors are completely overpowered.

The game uses EAC which is mostly useless against cheats and is a piece of Chinese spyware. Any decent developer can just create a driver and sign it, or load it with a kernel exploit and it bypasses the anticheat completely.

Also, I have 24GB of ram and the game still manages to crash due to a lack of ram, even if I have nothing else open and on the lowest quality. The devs must not understand memory management.

If you don't have a team ready and 8+ hours per day don't even waste your money on Rust.

Doesn't allow you to surf down the ramp in unforseen consequences. Literally unplayable.

Up until the resonance cascade is great, but past the resonance cascade it's a poor re-interpretation of the first part of half-life. The first part of half-life is supposed to be fun, but it's just a larger version of the classic locked-room npc cutscene. You're not given the crowbar until after you go through the tunnel, which means you can't kill the guard for his pistol.

If you don't play chess don't waste your time with this trash game.

Interstellar space janitors 10/10

It's a good game, but I just recently came across beatsaber's DMCA takedown of a fan-made, open-source remake, called "supersaber".
I don't recommend supporting a company which uses copyright laws against its fans and supporters.

In addition to this, they've increased the price of the game yet again, so they can add more trash-tier songs.

It's CSGO+CSS+GMOD TTT in VR, but with basically 0 hackers. It's 100% worth the price. Also if you're tall you can make fun of the manlets.

This game is not completely free. It costs $19.99 if you want to be able to use more than a few characters. The game does allow the grindwall (think Ubisoft) model of unlocking characters, but unless you're a 9 year old your time is more valuable than the All Legends Pack price.
