An absolute unexpected, pleasant game discovery! Super fun with friends, easily upto 40h+ playthrough on your first attempt learning and discovering things.

Fantastic choice on the alien enemies/encounters so far, looking forward to move content!

If anything, I would say the unlockable perks should be adjusted --- e.g later/earlier on the skill tree when you unlock some of them. Additional, environmental effects/'friends' should be a bit more prevalent.

Some of the 'levels' brought a big grin on my face, reminding me of some good ol' N64 games...

Recommend!!!

Overall, I enjoyed my time greatly in the Alpha --- really relaxful. I'm looking forward to future content and some more diverse environments that will require the magic skills to navigate or whatnot!

The environment was a nice thing to explore, gave that old school Runescape of not really much hints besides 'look in this area' at best and requiring magic skills to explore some areas. While the combat was simplistic during the Alpha time, there were some surprises for sure but has great potential for great fun.

A seemingly fun underwater exploration game with mystery, crafting and building.

Until it isn't.

*Deeper still*
*Roar in the distance*
*Warning sensors go off*
*Screams*

10/10. Can't wait until the sequel with coop.

This game is not for the faint of heart or those looking for participation award(s).

You will work for every win for the likely several failures and level restarts that come before it.

This game will test you and your crew on communication, strategy and teamwork. This isn't a run and gun game; you will want to go quietly as possible to avoid a firefight and use up your precious limited ammo (no more than 5-7 clips/reloads per gun) and save life. Even then, they throw curve balls at you!

If you have a few friends who are looking for a game to hop in to and are willing to learn and progress slowly (levels can take 30m-2h+ and we're only through the second Rundown (has 11 levels in it) and it's been nothing but fun.

There are 8 Rundowns total, which each Rundown having 6-11 levels+ each, with each higher Rundown being harder.

Bring your A+ game.

I had an idea what I was buying into when I purchased it in early access, but never realized how drawn in I got!

Game is very charming, fun aspect to it, while hiding the more devious harder parts later on. :)

Combat is simple and fun, professions were a nice touch with some perks as you level them.

You can play and explore as you see fit; build a nice base (or boat launch!) to find something to fight and loot.

For the core!

Got this game under recommendation from a friend.

Game is beautiful, fast paced, several builds available with tons of potential when they add additional content. The content right now is enough to give a very, very good basis of how good it can get. Props to the team!

Super fun game for PvE with a buddy or few.

The way combat is a bit different, but once you get used to it, it's fun and rewarding and the boss fights the Devs have made are great.

Brutal difficulty with no tweaks I found to be a great experience, the need to understand resource needs, slotting skill gems, gardening, servants were all required as you got later in.

Again, props to the Dev team for coming out with a fantastic last boss fight, especially on brutal. Kinda wish they used the same lock-out style they used on the last boss on Brutal so you can't really cheese fights with multiple players.

I don't know how I didn't post a positive review of this game.

The game Iron Gate made is absolutely beautiful and immersive.

Each time you defeat a boss, you have to explore and re-learn each new biome, encounters and equipment.

Worlds are randomly generated = replayability. Them adding world mods in later like No Map? Harder hitting enemies? Getting raided more? = even more replayability!!!!!

Highly recommend to play with a friend or 3 :)

And the game isn't even finished yet!

Game is absolutely well designed. Props to Arrowhead (Devs) for such a fantastic game.

Nothing like getting drawn into a game and just going along with it and having a blast!

Props to the community for coming together and keeping the game as-is in recent events - Mission Accomplished!!!

This was my first Monster Hunter game after watching my friends play the earlier ones in the series.

I bought this over Xmas break with some friends and we never got into a game so hard. Two solid months, each day after work, poof --- gone in a flash. Each zone is gorgeous in their own right, each monster fight have been very fun and some monsters continue to deliver fun fights even after understanding the monsters patterns! Even after a few hundred hours on this game, I've still yet to beat some of the end-game monsters, photos, treasure hunting...so much more to do still!!!

Beware arch-tempered Velkhana...

Side musings: I have tried Rise when it came out --- I have not gotten the expansion. I preferred World since the fighting in World seems to demand a bit more respect in terms if you read a monster's attack wrong or you charge up your attack at the wrong time, you will get punished. I will say the wire bugs in Rise are nice but kinda make it seem almost too easy compared to fights in World.
