A excellent new addition to the line up of 4x Strategy games. While it has flaws, it brings a fresh take to the genre, and feels significantly distinct from it's cousins. It's well worth your time if you've enjoyed other games like it, or just want a good introduction to the genre.

A faithful follow up to the original. Changes enough to keep the feeling of discovery and joy one experiences exploring unfamiliar digital ground, keeps enough from the previous game that masters of it will find their favorite mainstay elements.

Plus, now there's a cat.

Other reviewers here are, perhaps, right to complain about the overall length of the DLC when pitted against an experienced player. However I feel even with that the arena, which is also not perfect, more than makes up for that in regards to pure playtime. But let's address the single player content, as that is what a Dark Souls game is first and foremost...

-Visually stunning region, an exploration of an analogue of the Painted World of Ariamis from DS1.
-A variety of new weapons and spells, as well as several new armor sets.
-Two new bosses, one of which turns the typical boss fight structure on it's head.
-4-15 hours of playtime, roughly, allowing for personal skill and ability.

For even t h e s e things alone I would say the DLC is worth it, but we can then add the potential of much PvP content to it if you as a player wish to participate in it.

So yes, I recommend this DLC.
