It isn't very fair or correct to call this a puzzle game, this is more of a walking simulator with minor problem solving. The look of the game is stunning and beautiful, which is what you should play the game for. Story is background and not important, but very nice and complements the visuals. You will have no issue completing everything in less than 4 hours.

If you see this on sale grab it. It is well worth the few bucks for couple of hours of stunning gameplay.

As numbers go up so does my happiness.

It is a fun combination of Slay the Spire with a splash of The Room. There is lore/story in the game in the form of "glitches", it does pull you out of the experience once and a while. It isn't enough to ruin it, just a tad annoying. But that is just a nitpick and the only thing negative about it.

You should buy this if you enjoyed the demo, even if it isn't on sale.

This is an amazing small game, you can easily do everything within 5-6 hours. But within that time frame you'll find great characters, great levels/chapters, and a very charming story. Easily worth the money, but if you see it on sale then you're obligated to buy it.

If you've played and enjoy Binding of Isaac, you'll love this game. Great soundtrack as all Supergiant games have. The visuals are fantastic. Also serviceable mouse and keyboard controls.

Compared to Dead by Daylight, there is a lot of issues with Last Year.

The lack of content within a year. I understand DbD is bigger and can churn out stuff faster. I can forgive playing against the same killers for a long period of time. But they need a decent map pool and Last Year ♥♥♥♥♥ the bed with the lack of maps. 4 maps playing damn near the same way.

I don't know who was clamoring for spells instead of perks but I really hated the spells. Not the fact they're actives, but the fact you have to make a huge investment, buy at a cheaper cost, and stock them up. I want perma stuff so I don't have to think "Oh ♥♥♥♥, I better go restock up on the spells I love to play with." If I wanted to micromanage ♥♥♥♥ in games I would play a mobile game.

I got all I wanted within 6 hours with a couple of my friends. I don't see this having a huge lifespan, unless it cuts in price. If Last Year was half the price and on sale, I could suggest it without feeling like a waste of money. But I wouldn't spend 20 bucks on it, wait for a price cut/big sale if you're wondering if you'll like it.

Note: There looks like there are going to be mods in the future. Which can really help with a game's longevity.

That being said, this still feels like an incomplete game. I want to like it, but at the 8th hour I couldn't bring myself to play it. It sure aint like Slay the Spire, there is a lack of combos or strategy that where you can go ham, feels bit clunky.

I know this is an RPG, Roguelite, wearing RNG with pride. But you can get royally screwed over much harder then other games. Yea you could get screwed in Binding of Issac, but you could eek out a win or choose an easy ending to beat. Such as beating Satan. Yea you can get screwed with Slay the Spire, but you can have a decent chance to the first boss and retry at full potential. Losing in this game felt just a bit worse, like I wasted my time. Take this part with a grain of salt, you may think otherwise.

I want to like this game a lot, but I can't bring myself to even recommend it. Maybe at 50% off I could suggest it with a lot of flaws and not that much depth.

The game is vastly improving, the QOL updates are great, and most importantly is mod community. If this didn't have mods I wouldn't have put this much time into this game.
