It feels quite a bit different from a regular Modern Sonic game, in a very good way. Shadow's new powers feel really good to use, aside from the usual jankiness you can expect from a Sonic game.

Just know that Shadow's story is not very long. I'd say it's about half of actual Sonic Generations, but that doesn't include hunting down all the collectibles, which is a fun time.

I also really like how the white space has the open world aspect of Frontiers, I really think Sonic Team took the feedback from Frontiers to heart. I'm not saying they should include it in every single Modern Sonic game moving forward, but it's a feature I would enjoy seeing again in the future.

I was never a fan of Kirk Thornton as Shadow's voice actor and I still aren't, but I can tell he's improving.

I'd definitely recommend it in its current state, though it wouldn't hurt to wait for a sale if you don't mind being spoiled everywhere until that happens.

If I have to complain about one thing, it's the censoring in Sonic Generations like many others have said before. It's absolutely unnecessary and creates some very awkward scenes. And if you somehow did get offended by the original Generations' dialogue and cutscenes in any way, shape or form, then please go get some ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ therapy.

First, let me say that I do like this game. However, it has a lot of flaws that I would love to see adjusted.

1. Full screen (THEY ADDED FULL SCREEN, THIS NO LONGER APPLIES)
-This version of COL has no full screen (yet), which is something pretty much every PC game should have.

2. Shared warehouse
-A while ago I got a Legendary on my main account from a Light of Dawn. However, this Legendary is for Elementalist only, while my main is a Paladin. Because of this I made an Elementalist character so I could actually get some use out of that Legendary. But there's no way to transfer it to my Elementalist except for putting it up for sale for the ridiculous minimum price. Because of this I would like a shared warehouse between characters, so I can easily transfer my Legendary to my Elementalist. Or at least just something that allows me to transfer it.

3. Guild War
-My guild got matched up a lot against other guilds with thrice as many active members who are also extremely overpowered. This causes us to get stomped very hard. Try to even up your matchmaking so it's not always so unbalanced.

4. Daily messages
-I keep getting annoyed by messages like "Because you didn't complete some events yesterday" and "You paid a fortune in the raid". I would like an option to turn these off.


These are just problems I see with the game currently. Feel free to reply with more problems and I'll consider adding it to this review so NetEase can see it.

-SIDE NOTE-

I didn't start playing this game when it got on Steam. I played it since begin January on my Android phone and my main is already level 55 with a 67 level path.

Really nice game. Very well optimized, free-to-play and pretty cool characters. Still a bit buggy though.
