Whoever of you played and loved Descent back in the days. Just play this!

If you are full of mega nostalgia like i am, go for it.
If you are not... wait for a sale, 20 € should be ok.

Game messed up my display drivers color settings and didn't reset them when closing the game, had to do it manually.
Game itself is ok, you have to think about what you do a lot and plan ahead.
However, i don't want to set color schemes again and again for windows, will uninstall.

The game is ok.

A major problem is, that you just cannot foresee Anything about the enemy fleet.
You use a new fleet with a fresh officer to intercept "escort fleets" and they outnumber your full fleet with a new officer so you won't level up that guy at all because he is dead.
Another problem during fight is, that the hitboxes aren't clear. You turn a ship away from the enemy to reduce incomming damage in the front and show them some side armor but the damage still comes in at the front or immediatly switches to the rear - which either isn't armored or allready stripped off armor.

The game has potencial but i think a lot of rebalancing and polishing still needs to be done.

So, the game has been patched and the issues i had with the game have been tackled!
It's a lot of fun right now, the battles seem a little more balanced without being way too easy.
Big thumbs up for the devs who took the feedback seriously (i mean, i wasn't the only one complaining about that as far as i know)

Some minor issue remains: Most of the time the replay-function doesn't save the videos. It just says "working" for a long time without the CPU actually doing anything (you can see CPU activity rise when it actually work.)

Game is ok, no major bugs that stopped me from completing the game which brings me to the bad side of the game:
It took me 27 hours to finish the main story. I made every sidequest i could find and explored as much as i could. While i probably did not find everything i feel that 27 hours for the first playthrough is really short for a Deus Ex game.

All in all: It's an ok game that doesn't life up to it's name unfortunatly.

It really depens on what you are looking for in a game. I think most people reviewing badly where riding the hypetrain. I wasn't, i was expecting a mediocre game about exploring and that's what i got.

There are some issues: The framerate randomaly drops to about 8 or 9 fps and only a game restart will fix it. The flight controls are complete BS on PC. The overall performance doesn't seem great, 'poorly optimised' is the term gameing reviews thaught me for what i am seeing here.
I also noticed that the performance seems good after launching the game and continuisly drops and then at some random point the FPS just crashes to below 10.

As for the rest: The game is grindy so far. Trying to get some wealth together to buy a beter ship. If you are lucky you get a nice mining tool very early so you can mine really fast. The one i got isn't that great and it takes a while to mine anything. Main source if income seems to be mining and selling what you don't need.

I want to stress this: Do not buy this game if you are looking for a sci-fi action game! Most of the time you are just wandering and looking arround. There is some basic fighting invovled, but the gamedesigns focus clearly isn't on that.
Also you do not buy this if you are looking for a Multiplayer or Co-Op game. Whiley they gave the impression that it would be possible but unlikely to encounter other players it seems impossible right now. The changes in advertising to a singleplayer game and the silence of the devs regarding the streamers who where at the same planet doesn't really help here.


All in all i'd rate the game 5/10.
It really depends on what you are looking for.

Crusader Kings in space.
I made a military dictatorship and got wiped out by religious fanatic neigbours... Eager to see what happens next :)

It's a great game, the only downside for me is that you do NOT have control over your ships in battle. You just send a flotilla to engage an enemy flotilla and see what happens. If you are fine with that go ahead :)

As solid as the games they made before. Nice addition to the series. Can be played without knowledge of the first 2 games.

People just have to remember: It's NOT open world, it's pretty linear, you won't lose yourself in hour long sidequests.

THE AI slows down when you aren't good enough to beat it and is also getting faster by magic when you beat it. That allone made it less enjoyable for me.
