I've played the last 5 Cabela's games hoping that one day I'd be blown away.

That happened. This game is really fun, especially for someone who is genuinely interest in hunting. It's not the type of game where you're going to be running around shooting animals, you have to strategize.

They really make you work for the kills. And in doing so, it makes it very rewarding to land a kill. I've been playing it on the "authentic" difficulty though, so for anyone who thinks it sounds a little too difficult, there is a casual setting.

As your progress doing different hunts you get points that you can unlock items in the store with (Ex. animal call, different bullets, different arrows, scent masks, new guns etc.).

The maps are absolutely huge and beautiful, it's honestly nice just walking around listening to nature. There's always birds or rabbits or the occasional fox (etc. etc. etc.) that really make the world feel alive.

I would compare the graphics to Battlefield 3 or 4 easily. The map at first looks like you get access to all of North America, they break it up into 4 quadrants, although they only allow you to hunt in the United States.

As a Canadian it'd get me hyped to hunt in Canada but, unfortunately since they only let you hunt in the northern United States. Regardless when you're hunting in the northern quadrants of the map you feel like you're in Canada. It's nice having that contrast in environments to keep things fresh.

All in all, I'd highly recommend this game to anyone who wants a solid hunting game that leans more towards the strategy side of things, opposed to the arcade style (Ex. Cabela's Dangerous Hunts 2013).
