Its like a itch in the back of your mind. You had this as a small child nagging at the small parts of you that would remain into adulthood. It tugged at you as the steam summer sales came and went.
You remember when your game count hit the triple digits thinking to yourself "thought it would be better. I too felt this way. I remember after the army in 2011 and I had crushed 1300 hours of Skyrim the itch felt like it had been scratched. A void in my life had been filled but the itch was still there.
Then it came in the form of They Are Billions. All I've ever wanted is for a game to punish me in a way that made tactical sense. No dice rolls, no mad gods laughing at me. Just a massive horde climbing over each other to get to me and my brains.
I've always wanted a game that would punish me as I would punish bad A.I. I wanted a game that would recognize my flaws and exploit them. Too long had I been a god (without ~) unchallenged in the Matrix. That time is over. This game beyond mid difficulty is for seasoned veterans of this craft. Let the weak die and the strong have Tesla Towers.


If the developers ended up making a star ship troopers type game and charged double what they do for TAB I'd buy it without waiting for a sale. (hint hint)

Best horde survial / Base building / Resource management / Steam Punk setting game EVER. Would die again.

Preference: I've watched every mad max movie to date. I love post apocolyptic environments and anything with the word "Wasteland" somewhere in the description. I would name my character Max in all of my fallout games.

What helped me finish this game was how new smooth the controls were for vehicle combat. This was the first game and only game besides Mario Cart that I ever played that had vehicle combat.

Yes the tasks are pretty repetitive but the Story missions and the faction missions will give you a good reason to keep going. I made it a point to try and upgrade as many fortresses as I could. I would always have my ammo,gas,water replenished when playing.

I'd recommend it, but on sale for 20-30$.

The in game experience feels good, very responsive. A key to playing at the higher difficulties is to make sure you are always picking up the drops. I had a lot of fun already and will continue to do so for many more hours.

Cons- Sound is not optimized so you don't know which direction new waves are coming from just by sound.

That's it, I love this game.

I'm doing this with great sadness.

I love the Warhammer 40K universe and everything about it.

Some of these games get crunched and churned for the profit machine, I don't think that is what has happened here.

I will say that after 2.4 hours of choppy screens, mismatched sounds for the lagging frames I have given up. There is no optimization here for the graphics issues I see including my own. Sad. Very sad.

I've been reading that me issues had been fixed. I booted it up today and was pleasantly surprised. I was actually able to play and realize that it's not just a mindless shooter. It's kind of challenging depending on the loadouts you go with. In either case I'd recommend it but for 30$.

KEY POINTS:

Bet and kill to earn enough money to survive
Travel the four corners of the earth, with more than 40 champions to beat in 25 missions
Non-linear storyline with two possible endings
Full, evolving arsenal with over 40 weapons
Two endings - choose your own destiny

This is my first time playing a game where I'm not directly in control of everything. Being a control freak this is a little different for me. I did however have a great time playing this.

The game does a really good job of keeping you involved so you actually feel the decisions you made.

Also I'll buy anything with the word "Borderlands" in it.
