Game is great for the price, fairly standard vampire survivors-like type game, but it can get a little stale in a few ways.

A couple recommendations for the devs I would love to see to make the game a little more diverse and increase playability.

1: The weapons having a set, concrete rarity, makes it kind of frustrating and lackluster, opening your fifth blue M249 LMG weapon crate in a single match feels incredibly unsatisfying. Not to mention this kind of automatically makes (it feel at least, like) all white/green colored weapons are inferior and not worth using if you find one of a higher rarity, and therefore excludes a handful of the weapons you placed in the game from even being used period. I would love if all the weapons existed at ALL rarities, with the possibilities for stat rolls or bonus rolls based on rarity to augment and synergize with perks.

2: I love games with character diversity, but some of the character abilities seem kind of convoluted, very niche, or straight up useless, I would rather have a cast of 10 solid characters to play from each run than 30 I won't even play.

3: One of the only things lacking from the genre it takes inspiration from is persistent between-run upgrade traits or trees of some kind, to provide permanent bonuses to future runs. ( I haven't made it to hell or endless mode so I am unsure if this is a feature that is unlocked later in the progression, but even if that is the case, I would argue it would feel better if it was available after completing the prologue chapter with a character once.

Once again, I am truly enjoying the game and experimenting with it, the football player is especially fun to run around slamming into zombies as, and I am excited to see what else they can bring to the game in the future.

I don't really take the time to review much, but this game is getting a lot of unnecessary flak.

The entire concept in the mechanics of the game are super fun and a fairly unique combination of fun systems in other games in the genre. It takes a bit of time to warm up, as there are many introductory quests to explain the multitude of systems, which, frankly, without those quests, would be a bit overwhelming.

Yes. There are many bugs. Some game breaking. I think people forget what Early Access is actually supposed to mean, since so many games release under the guise of being in early access to excuse bugs and slow content drip while keeping people interested to get the most money possible out of the players.

This is what an actual Early access game should be like. Overall, the game works, it's, fun, and it needs to be tweaked and balanced based on the feedback of a public experience.

This is a 20 dollar game from a non AAA studio. It's beautiful for what it is, and for the money it costs. It was barely a day or two before the first major fix, which was 1.5 gigs and did fix a ton. That's amazing work for a small studio, they're busting their asses and everyone is being ignorant ♥♥♥♥♥ about it.

I don't normally post reviews but let me tell you. I am a huge fan of supporting indie games and I am always trying to find gems like this in the tides of new releases.

I have only a short amount of play time but I can tell you this. This game is so engrossing. I do not usually have patience for cut scenes in games and my attention span is so short that I usually stream TV or movies while playing a game.

This game is so easy for me to sit and play and focus on singularly. I care about the family and each member in it. The narrative pulls you in and the gameplay is simple, responsive, and rewarding. Almost three hours in and I've yet to lose interest or find any bugs.

I look forward to pushing through each area and unlocking the rest of the characters and leveling them up.

Especially for the price point, I highly recommend this game if you enjoy rogue-like games like dead cells, moonlighter, or enter the gungeon for example.

I was skeptical after reading some of the reviews here, but there were some helpful reviews that recommended it and I gave it a chance.

You can earn everything in the game by playing. Within just a few hours of gameplay I had unlocked my second character and I look forward to unlocking more.

The game definitely has kind of a mobile game aesthetic but if you can get past that at first it's really quite fun. Mastering the movement and combos on a character is very satisfying and the different missions available add a lot of depth and reward.

The crafting system is very satisfying and I love equipping new items to bring into my next match.

I can't wait to unlock more characters and for the multiplayer to come out, I have a feeling this is going to grow into something amazing.

I do not usually write reviews for games, but this game is phenomenal.

IT has its balancing issues but as an early access game it is finding its feet and overall the gameplay is very satisfying.

I have played each character and they all have their place, some are much more effective in a group and some are much easier to play solo.

I'm very excited for future characters to release and experience their gameplay.

Each character feels distinct and are overall very satisfying to play.

My one issue with the game is that some characters are just more built for end game than others. All characters shine (on normal diff for me) up until you get into your 6-10th teleporter.

The warrior is by for for me, the best character in the game, even if you end up getting trash items the whole time, let alone a good build. Being able to fire arrows (that you don't even have to aim) while sprinting, jumping, and having the ability to teleport, all give you incredible damage and mobility options, I've had games last well past 50 minutes with this character initially.

I want to say, I started off not liking the Mercenary AT ALL, but after playing it in a group with my friend, I had an absolute blast. Getting backup magazine and multiple jumps, cooldown reducers, it all made me so mobile and able to jump around like a maniac, dashing from enemy to enemy, laying waste. The problem with mercenary though, is for how much danger he has to put himself in as a melee character, the risk is not worth it in the end game. I was in a 55 minute match with a friend yesterday and after a point, I couldn't get close to a mob without getting instantly shredded, even during my R which is supposed to make you invincible during it? I also find that as a melee and at risk character, the damage output, even with some gnarly items, is particularly lacking compared to nukers like Articifer and Warrior.

I have not dabbled too much with MUL-T as he doesn't feel like my play style, but I need to try out the engineer more, he is incredibly difficult to enjoy (personally) solo, but I will experiment more with that soon.

The game is simply beautiful and plays so smoothly, the controls and characters are all so responsive it's a dream. (Only performance issue is the game stutters for a second on item pickup which is weird, but hasn't caused me to die yet or anything)

All these people dropping in to talk about how unpolished this game is when it's pre-alpha and still plays better than PUBG did on official release, I'm dying.

The map has a lot of variety and the gunplay feels very rewarding. The use of a dodgeroll especially for vaulting over walls you can't plain jump over, adds a very intense dynamic. For a game that has only been in development for five months it brings a lot to the table, learning curve appears to be relatively small, and the game is just plain fun.

It definitely plays like a game show and even dying is entertaining half the time.

I will say I've not played a ton yet because mid week releases suck for my schedule, but I've won 3 games and literally never placed below a top 10 spot so that's fun. I've played pretty much every arena shooter or BR game that is out right now and this is already my favorite and it's only a skeleton of what it's to become.

As far as bugs are concerned I honestly can' say I've encountered any that made my experience less fun or impacted my ability to play whatsoever as of 4 hours logged.

I'll be playing this game to relax for a long time, and I can only imagine how awesome it will be as the developers pour more time into polishing it.

It's free to play with literally no way to pay 2 win, you can only pay for cosmetics, there's literally nothing to lose by trying it. If you like BR games, you'll love it, if you loved the over the top 80s movies and the whole 80s aesthetic, you'll love it.

Pick up the game and reach RADICAL HEIGHTS!

This game as it stands is great.

By no means is it anywhere close to being finished; but it is what the developers are stating it is.

I don't get all these reviews knocking on the disappointment for lack of story and content and it being just a survival crafting game.

There is literally a disclaimer screen from the devs that you have to pass in order to get to the main menu where they state you will only be playing as 1 of 3 characters in the early access and that the only story content will be the prologue of that 1 character. So why are so many people surprised at the lack of early access content? It's early access, maybe if these people learned to read their experience with the game would make more sense.

The devs also state that only 50% of the procedural world is included in the current state of early access, and that there will be many bugs and in some cases the game will not work period probably. They are very open and honest about the state of their game and are making no false claims about the game they are putting out for us right now.

Edit: Also in the game's store page, where you are probably reading this very review; there is an in depth Q&A from the developers concerning the state of the game as it stands right now in early access and its future. It's literally right in front of everyone who's ever played this game. Twice.

The devs also have a what seems daily update log on the main menu screen for us, where they visibly address the most reported issues and criticisms for everyone to see.

This game has a long way to go until it is a quality, finished, masterpiece of a game; but it is well on its way.

If you are someone who will complain about every little bug, a lack of content, or literally anything at this stage of the game's early access, you should probably wait until the official release and give the game a fair shake before condemning it.

Amazing game. A little short for those who don't take the sneaky approach; you can rush the game in two hours with combat. Alternatively, the story is amazing, and the gameplay is some of the smoothest, most solid gameplay I've experienced in a game. You will get at least 8 hours of gameplay from the main story if you are sneaking, especially going for the no kills achievement.
