Was a terrifying experience - borderline traumatic.

Many pants were shat throughout this entire game.

10/10 would play again.

Mass Effect is a long running series with outstanding history and impact dating back to 2007. The original Mass Effect trilogy involved a hooking story-line and bad-ass characters that revolutionised and tailored what it truly meant to develop a solo-RPG within the industry.

As time goes on (over a decade and a half!), It would be only fair to expect the game to look worn, possibly decadent in areas. This is certainly the expectation I held before experiencing the game. However, Mass Effect Legendary Edition truly blew my mind with how well the game has aged.

Mass Effect Legendary Edition is like a handmade box containing the love of the developers who contributed to it. It shows that they still care, not only about the franchise but also the players. All 3 games have been tweaked slightly, think of it like an engineer tuning an engine to a degree whereby it performs admirably and still is competitive, even against modern titles, however you can still see the original model underneath, giving it a nostalgic and well-loved feel while still (most importantly!) retaining its original character.

Furthermore, as the player following the trilogy from the first game through, you are directly shown the progression, improvements and advice which Bioware enacted and carried along the way. This journey through the years as you jump between the games feels special as you can see that Bioware listened to reviews and the player carefully, ensuring they created an amazing game. They did back then, they have now.

Bioware's cherry on the top of the marvellous cake that is Mass Effect is the visuals. They have developed and refined the visuals to still look as stunning as they used to, within each release, but for modern day. They have also done this while still maintaining the original intention of the game and not breaking character or feel; an incredibly hard feat to accomplish for such a well-established series.

I round off with having to just personally thank the team at Bioware for releasing such a phenomenal, story-filled, action-packed and lovable franchise, not only in 2022, but also back to the original release in 2007. You have retained every-single ounce of character it had back then (and continues to have now!) which I assure will inspire wanderlust-filled generations to come. If I could personally give you the "labour of love" award myself, I would. Thank you for everything.
