All Type 2 or Type 3 or any other milled AK's most likely U.S. made ionic "AK-47's" are milled out for "quality control". In the end there were 3 different AK variants before the AKM was made. There was a time that units still had SKS's by the beginning of the Type 3 series. The first ever introduction of the AK rifle to the west was the Hungarian Revolution and much like the T-44 tank later, the AK-47 would most likely be named by the date it was approved for service instead of date it was created. That would also mean, ironically the first captured AK had a manufactured date of 1947 or that the spy game was at a peak high.
