It's inevitable for multiplayer games that require such a magnitude of players to have a dwindling player base - this game used to be a fun, switch-your-brain-off game where you could play on public servers and bask in the sheer randomness of the game's glitches and in-game voice.

Nowadays the lower player count means everyone will typically play on one server - typically both EU and US jumbled into one. It's a sobering thought that made me realise a good, fun community is what keeps this kind of game going for so long - not the gameplay.

I can no longer recommend this game, the community is simply not what it used to be.

I originally gave a thumbs up for this game when it was new. I am now retracting my original review - Counter-strike 2 continues to get worse with every passing month.

The overall gameplay would be fine if matchmaking worked in its balanced way as intended. However, Valve's decision to use premier mode and have a rank for each map in competitive has been utterly detrimental to the overall game. I can't remember the last game I've played that was relatively balanced - the majority of games I play now are a landslide victory either on my side or the other. This isn't helped by the continuous problem that has faced CS for its entirety, smurfs. I don't see the problem going away, and Valve has a difficult task regarding that, however the matchmaking HAS to change; right now, the game is unplayable.

This game, in terms of gameplay, is utter perfection. The problem is Valve; within the balance between quality over quantity, Valve heavily coincides with former far over the latter. The company needs to balance the perfectionist, slow development to be able to create the full game at a reasonable pace - we need more maps, not useless features like the grenade crosshair. We need Train, Cobblestone, Cache, not swapping your gun from left to right hand, not a dropped items section in the buy menu -_-

The new competitive ranking system, that of a rank for each map, makes sense, until you find out you have to win 10 matches for EACH map. That equates to 10 matches per map, 9 maps, meaning 90 wins (on an already unplayable match-up), meaning even if you manage a 50% win-rate you'll have to play 180 games JUST to get a starting rank. I don't have to tell you how idiotic this system is - if being unranked meant every game was remotely playable it would be fine, but of course it's not; the majority of games I play have a heavy swing to one team or the other. If it was lowered to 3-5 matches, competitive would at least have some level of reward for the struggle.

Valve needs to focus up - the game is unplayable, and that's coming from someone who has a relatively high amount of hours in the game - I can only imagine how off putting it is to new players.

Oh, and add unranked back, there's literally no enjoyment out of competitive and premier, and, of course, hackers are still rife.

Great game with massive potential

The shooting mechanics integrate a fresh new design and use within the musket genre. The canons are meticulously designed to be realistic yet fun to use. The melee is better than another recent napoleonic wars game...

The one gripe I have about this game is that there are too many features - it feels like a school project where the students have added a tonne of ideas and features, but miss out and get unfocused with what the most important features are. I would like the devs to focus on refining the core features, like melee, the graphics, A.I.

Overall I can definitely recommend this game, it is an absolute steal at this price and is a great amount of fun especially with friends.

Early Access Review
It's been around 1.5 years since the release of this game. The gameplay itself is great, however I can't recommend at this time. Some of the most significant features that were the greatest sells for this game, mods and online events, are not features for a game that is still "Early Access", and considering the time it has taken to do simple updates for singleplayer, it's estimated the desirable features won't be available for another year or two.

I have overplayed singleplayer and play multiplayer - singleplayer is brilliant, however after the boom of the game, multiplayer is almost vacant and has little players. This is both due to dying interest and lack of fixing within balance of factions. Siege is fun depending on how you play it, there are certain strategies for both sides. Skirmish is heavily unbalanced in terms of both factions and matchmaking; unless you are playing with at least 4 others in a group, you will be destroyed by another clan who know what they're doing. Captain mode is the only savoury gamemode online, especially with friends it's the full game I wanted, only hindered by faction balance.

Ultimately I can't recommend this game at full price, it's an unfinished game even 1.5 years on

*edit* as of now they have added competitive matchmaking, ultimately making the 3 people playing multiplayer not able to play online. This decision is borderline delusional and I really question whether the developers are actually trying to kill their own game. Captain and Skirmish modes are dead as noone is playing or able to get a game. Haven't played singleplayer in a year, updating that is a useless farce and taleworlds should bank on online events rather than trying to acively kill their game.

Flying around Gotham as Superman never gets old.

Great use of the original film soundtracks as well. Finished the campaign in 7 hours, but completing the whole game would take around 10-15 hours.

I'd recommend it at its current price.

Improved Chivalry.

Positives:
+ Great gameplay, very stressful at times (more often that not you'll get 2 v 1 situations and saltily die)
+ Great addition of new weapon techniques (i.e. Mordhau grip, Half-swording)
+ Siege weapons (except trebuchet)
+ Massive 64/64 PvP servers
+ Character ("class") customisation, with no hint of microtransactions (of course, if they were to issue microtransactions im sure there would be community outcry)
+ Weapon and Armour customisation
+ Horde mode is fun and challenging

Negatives:
- The community (more often than not people complaining and moaning, team killing, building blocks in spawn, etc.)
- Buggy servers (I'm unable to go through a map change, maybe it's my internet, but i time out every time)
- Chivalry clone, with some adjustments, less diversity of weapons (no flail, Brandistock, Sabre, Sling)
- Balancing issues (shields too op, rapier spamming is annoying af, etc.)
- Lack of maps (and good maps), Camp and Arctic are the only good maps.
- Horde mode is almost too challenging, only real way to win is play camp, hide in sniper towers, spam bows and crossbows.
- Archer classes are too op, or at least extremely annoying (would be nice to have only a certain amount of players on archers)

Overall I would recommend this game, I played chivalry for some hours and enjoyed (and became salty) about it, but its downfall was lack of interest, and microtransactions. Lets hope the developers learn from this and listen to the community!

I stopped playing after Rockstar neglected the community and added microtransactions. Such an overrated company, the games are good for the first few hours, but too be honest, I'll stick to other games with developers who actually know how to make games last. This game is now unplayable with all the hackers and ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, and with every update, things get more expensive, which means the only way to get the new items is too either buy shark cards (microtransactions) or hack for money.

Best game I've played in Batman series, despite people being ♥♥♥♥♥ about the car, the car is a fundamental part in Batman's vigilante life, and is fun to drive. The story is amazing, and overall a brilliant game.

Coming from a guy who's never played any other fallout games, it's a pretty good game; good fps mechanics, pretty good story lines to follow (although main story line is a bit short, but there are multiple story lines to play), and great graphics. I would recommend the game, however not the newest dlc; wait until it is on sale.

p.s. the game however has nothing on Skyrim :p
