Early Access Review
I can throw three coins and fire a Railgun through a boss, have the beam bounce between each coin and tear the boss to shreds, and still be given a B rank in style.
I ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ love this game.

For $30? No. For $7.50? Hella worth it.
Stealth is janky as all hell. You basically need confidence that the enemy is blind to you walking past. There's no dedicated "stealth crouch" so you just *don't run.* This is nice because you're not intentionally slowing yourself, but it takes a bit to get used to. The areas you stealth in do more harm than good as well, often demanding you wait maybe a bit longer than you have patience for. Although you can always just commit war-crimes and get those sweet spines.
Movement is boring. Hold R2 and forwards. Done. I guess it's better than sub-par platforming but it's not particularly exciting. Oh and if you need to ninja run (yes that's the name) while trying to sneak around good ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ luck.
Combos are... vanilla. They aren't exactly revolutionary. I do like the boss weapons though, but I wish you can use them along with the heavy attacks of the sword. The staff is a bit dull but convenient for crowd control, the sai is fantastic for closing the distance, and the cleaver is... disappointingly inflexible. It would've been cool if you could mix and match boss weapons mid combat but you need to be OUT of a combo to access the menu so uh... ♥♥♥♥.
Subweapons ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ SUCK. They're so clunky and unwieldly and are a completely mismatch with the pace of melee combat. I only used RPGs for those ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Heli's, and for the grenades they thankfully give you the arcs of projectiles. Although it's still cancer trying to land EMP grenades on that red masked PRICK.
Some things (Such as right stick controlling the sword in the slash mode) are weird to get used to and aren't thoroughly explained. And because of this, they're VERY underutilized mechanics. I would've loved to have common enemies demand that precision but it's kept only for bosses. This caused a lot of frustration that *could* have been prevented had enemies prior had those same demands. Why have a mechanic if you only use it less than 8 times? Oh and if the game ever has you hit Y/B or Triangle/Circle just hold LT for free spinal fluids. They don't tell you that in the tutorial. ♥♥♥♥ move! But if they did tell you, I wasn't listening *because it was very, very, VERRRRY* boring. At least they let you learn it on your own, I'd be a liar if I was absolutely PSYCHED when I figured that out.
The bossfights are flashy and maybe a bit lacking gameplay wise. The only one that really took me back on how FUN it was were the Samurai and 2nd phase of the Senator.
That's not saying the others are BAD. They're just... mediocre. The set dressing or emotional beats (especially for that red masked fellow) helps those fights a LOT.
There's also two more bonus missions starring side characters! One doubles down on the combat, the other doubles down on the stealth. Both side characters handle differently from the main character in movement.
The combat one is a back to basics double jumps and running. There's also an airdash but it sucks ass. His air combos are waaaaaaaaay shorter than Raiden (the main character) too.
The stealth one's movement is... so disappointing. No ninja run, no airdash, not even a double jump. They did the homie dirty. So now you have these slow paced stealth missions with dull movement which is just- great.
So you have a pretty ok game so far, right? While leaning on that 6/10, *slightly* above mediocre spectrum- the camera kills it. It's SO ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ IRRITATING.
In combat it never looks where you need it, adjusting it manually is too time consuming so most of the time I'm going off sound and guesswork to hit/dodge/parry whatever man/robot/cyborg/♥♥♥♥♥ I'm fighting.
You'd think it'd be ok for stealth but NOOOOOOOO. YOU SEE THAT WAYPOINT PLAYER??? HOW ABOUT I POINT THE CAMERA *AWAY* FROM THE GUARD YOUR STALKING AND TOWARDS THE BIG, GLOWING, YELLOW WAYPOINT. You constantly need to fight the camera to watch your enemies which can be a ♥♥♥♥♥♥' ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.
So overall I'd give it a 5/10. That is until "It Has To Be This Way" starts playing. Actually now that I'm thinking about the soundtrack...
IN THE END, I REAAAAALIZE- THIS GAME WAS JUST LIKE ME TRYING TO BE DMCCCC.
BUT WHO'S TO JUUUUUDGE- THE GOOD FROM BAAAAAAAD.
WHEN ARE GUARD IS DOOOOWN, I THINK WE'LL BOTH AGREEEEE-
THAT THIIIIIIIIS GAME'S MEDIOOOOOOOOOOOOCRRRRRRE
BUT IN THE END IT HAS TO BE THIS WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!!!
6/10 best soundtrack I've ever played.

One of the best shooters I've played in years.
No DLC, no microtransactions, only dwarves.
With plenty of missions and an in-depth customization system for your loadouts and facial hair, I cannot recommend this title enough. All with half (or less) of the pricetag of AAA titles.
Well there are the costumes and weapon skins you can buy, but those are cosmetic ONLY. And to be frank it's hard to beat some of the skins already available without another dime spent.
The game is consistently being updated as the years go by, as every new update brings another reason to come back.
ROCK!
AND!
STOOOOOOOOOONE!

Pros:
-Accessibility
-Fair learning curve
-Variety of playstyles regarding the cast, only one true clone character
-Distinctive and unique art style
-Very flashy combos and supers
-Choice between having 1, 2, or 3 character(s) on a team, allowing for 2v3s or 3v1s for example
-TOP ♥♥♥♥♥♥ TIER REFERENCES. Including Jojo's Bizarre adventure, MvC, Street Fighter, Nintendo, and a ♥♥♥♥-ton more
-Big Band

Cons:
-Small cast, 5 of which are DLC
-Game hasn't been updated in a while, devs focused on a smartphone port
-2 character team format dominates the competitive scene
-You will be made fun of for maining female characters by other communities
-2nd Encore Expansion is 15$, making it a 25$ game for all content (Which is still worth though)
-'Rainbow Dash' color palette for Robo Fortune
-Waifu bait
-Big Band is DLC

Summary:
It's worth every dime and every insult. I'd buy the game with my own $ if my friend didn't grant me this amazing game.

It's fun for a bit, but without friends, you'll get nothing out of it

You know what? I loved this game. LOVED IT. It stealed my summer away and honestly I don't regret it a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ bit. 479 hours on this. But. The one thing wrong with this overwise incredible co-op FPS, not the moronic teammates, not the crates, the DLC. This game is probably with the DLC included worth over 70$. And they don't stop. What's worse? Some DLC like Gages Mod Courier are almost mandatory for play. Not to mention some weapons in the DLC are either immensely overpowered, or they're ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ USELESS! Admittedly, these crappier weapons are usually stepping stones to others or are just fun to use (Like the bow), but some DLC (Especially ones with Melee Weapons) can be a huge advantage. Like the ELECTRIC BLUDGENING DEVICE THAT STUNS ♥♥♥♥! An EXCLUSIVE utility for a DLC WEAPON! Not necessary but a massive power creep! (Power creep is when updates and DLC overshadow older content by being superior). Not to mention some of the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ BEST heists are DLC! But, there is FREE content, for only joining the community which isn't that bad. *Like, for what? 5 guns and 2 Heists?* But what if money isn't an issue? And you don't give have a ♥♥♥♥ about the skins in the crates? Good for you man, enjoy a game, (Price aside) a solid 7/10. 8/10 maybe 9/10 with friends, but the game is still regulary updated (With fresh DLC) quite often. But note- This game (At it's best) is NOT cheap. Before you get ANY DLC LOOK INTO IT! Their are plenty of people who have gotten that DLC before you, so look into it. FInally, only EVER get DLC when it's on sale. The cost can spike super easy when getting a bunch of the DLC.

*I don't know how much you get from joining the community, don't quote me on those statistics.*

Do you own this game? If yes, you don't need the PC version unless you want mods and or cheats. Otherwise, get it. IT is sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ worth for 20$. In this era it's STILL awesome!
